One of the three greatest safeties to ever wear the Power T came from Juco.

Yessir!! While I agree...Dale Carter is THE best Safety to ever play at UT in my opinion. Also the fastest I have ever seen in person.

2 time first team All American at Safety. All American Kick Returner that lead the nation 1 season at nearly 30yds per kick (29.6yds IIRC) Pro Bowler in the NFL. Used to give WRs a step to bait the QB into throwing his way because he knew he could close and make the pick or at least bat the ball down. I was lucky enough to see him return a kickoff for TD from 90+ yards as a kid.

* I know EB was also a 2time A.A. just like Dale. I love EB and was blessed to see him play in my lifetime. Berry was probably a little bit harder hitter also...but Dale was the best athlete on the field every single time he stepped on it at UT. Even against UF in their Spurrier years when they were loaded every year especially at WR. He was an amazing, Olympic level athlete who was the best returner in the league too like Cordarelle Patterson.

Too small of a lower body imo
He’s fine and can add the needed weight there.
Hobbs has been here 3 years and still isn’t quite a the strength level needed. But next year he should be fine and we still need older guys to come in and compete.

I can’t believe the staff is moving away from this kid.

I’m losing faith in them. They seem to be allergic to getting DTs from the portal or anywhere other than HS

Remember Saban moving on from Kongbo due to the same issue, and he was correct. Kid legs are too tiny to contribute. This a grown man’s league, I’m sure he dominates the Pearl Cohn and NECC’s of the world. Looks more like a AAC tackle than a SEC one.

And do you remember Billy Ratliff? Those legs were not ideal. And he was unblockable.

Meanwhile you had bubble butt big huge leg
5-Star Khalil Mckienzke getting moved out of the way in the 4th qtr…

It’s not always about the build, and I’m also saying his lower body is not that underdeveloped.

They(CRG) like the tree trunk leg guys who can eat up blocks. I’ve seen enough of these former LBer type tackles to know they don’t succeed in our system.
