Juaun Jennings communication with Pruitt

I love JJ's passion for the game and how he gets after it.

I don't like the immaturity and loss of self control that goes along with it.

We don't know the whole story for a fact, what exactly has been going on with him.

The fan in me wants to see JJ run through the T again but the fan in me doesn't want him to be disruptive to the team and program.

It's up to Coach Pruitt to decide and I'm OK with that, however it goes.

Hope JJ can get his life together and be a successful young man.

You never made an argument. It's hard to rebut an argument that is never made. You espoused a "position" and I made a comment by calling you a snowflake. That is much quicker than explaining why I believe you to be a social justice warrior and one of the people that believe that what the players get now isn't being paid. The description snowflake says everything that needs to be said. I'm not insulting you, just saying that your reply carried a lot of political undertones and I called you out on it. Stop being a wus and understand what is being said in short hand.

You’re confusing attacking a person with rebutting their position (if you care to use that terminology). Who I am doesn’t affect the validity of my point. You could say that you stand against anything that Stalin said, but if he called a red flag red, you would look silly to disagree. It’s why ad hominem is an argumentative fallacy.

That Jennings is a player that made catches instrumental to wins against Georgia and Florida last year isn’t affected by my character or politics, neither of which I have any interest in sharing with you. That he literally put his life on the line every time he stepped on the field is also undeniable, as nearly every year at least one football player dies from injuries sustained during a game. To me, that’s enough not to question his manhood. It’s possible for you to find a way to express your own opinion without petty, meaningless insults.

If he was kicked off for the rant, then the coaching staff needs to focus on the rant. if he failed drug tests, then that's a different reason. (please don't forget john kelly was pulled over with marijuana. he played more games in the season after the traffic stop) you can't just compile and throw other stuff at jj, especially if it's just speculation. if he was kicked off of the team because of his rant, then that's what the reinstatement discussion needs to be about.

But he made millions for UT just on the GA and FL games last year!

Wonder if he took it himself the first time.

wow and I bet you were on his boots licking when he won the FL and GA games for us....and if you dont think he won them for us then know that he made some huge plays.

Fans are fickle

I'm not sure I can without hurting your feelings since your complaints have been registered but I will try.

1) JJ is a good receiver and made catches.
2) they were made at times that appear miraculous.
3) he alone did not make millions for the football team on those catches alone. The other 10 guys on the field did their jobs also.
4) JJ does not deserve to play another down at UT I don't care what he has done and how much revenue you feel he is responsible for. To say any different exposes your belief systems that I disagree with.
5) please show me a statistic that indicates that football is a life threatening occupation. It is less dangerous than driving a vehicle which I do everyday. Ergo you should show me as much respect for risking my life as you do JJ.
6) that you would describe the game of football in a way that belittles the men and women that are public servants and are in the military in this country is also telling.

Taken in it's entirety, your post string is an indicator of several beliefs that I and many here don't hold, one of entitlement.

No, don't recall any boot licking. My post was in response to another poster. Context much?

I think Jennings deserves another chance.

He’s very passionate about the Vols and let’s be real...

Who wouldn’t be frustrated having a coach like Butch that can’t develop talent nor put them in the best position to win?

Everyone makes mistakes.

Make him promise he will play for 2 years

From what I understand..........it ain't up to me.

If it is, they will probably call me to ask my opinion.

I don't have enough info, not will I ever have the info that the powers that be will have....(but I still come on here to get it)

We have a new administration..... I will trust them.
I will abide by their decision.

I know...I know....boring post!
my wife often tells me that I'm not fun....(she's wrong)

Not many of us, if any, know the whole story. But to let a highly talented, popular player like JJ go tells me there is a lot more to it. Every coach wants to win. Has to win. They recruit guys with questionable character every year for the talent. But chemistry in the locker room is very important. As is leadership. Leadership in a positive way which we have been short on from time to time. I doubt it was his first, second, or third chance, but idk. I do know coaches don’t let great players go for trivial things. So I’m sure they have their reasons and I’m sure if they give him another shot it will be on their terms only. Hate to see a young guy have his love taken away, but I also wouldn’t want that behavior infecting our locker room right now either. Maybe he will find his way here or somewhere else and put this behind him.

That's the amazing thing about wives; years of experience (47 in my case) and they never seem to figure it out. I've come to the conclusion that if any guy actually figures out women, then I'd be very concerned about his sanity.

I think he should have been kicked off and was given multiple chances.

He was reportedly found stoned out if his mind prior to the Game Tech game

He abandoned his team after the injury

He went on the bizarre internet rant after not being able to play QB???

Was arrested for drug possession

Was arrested for assault and theft

Lame duck staff or not, I think they were at the end of their rope with him.

It wouldn't be a second chance, more like an 8th chance

They told him he could come back and play QB. Then when he got to practice, they had changed their minds. He was right to be frustrated. Don't forget, he was a QB in high school and was recruited as a QB. The idea of playing QB didn't come from thin air.

If you're going to kick off every player who smokes weed, we will lose a lot more than Jennings.

Not to play QB but to have a wildcat package is what Hyams said.

He wasn't going to classs either and most think he won't be academically eligible next season anyway!

Definitely would have passed to the dark side.

Been married for 70 of the best years (actually only 33.5) of my life.

We don’t need this thug. A good fit for him might be the U. You don’t be as talented as him and get booted for a small rant. There are obviously other issues. See ya later pal.

There are some mental health issues in his family that are genetic. Hyams has touched on it. Keep this is mind before judging JJ.

Firstly the Hyams article was a total hit piece, none of which is true and very uncharacteristic of Jimmy to write.

Secondly to even insinuate that JJ might have mental health issues tells me all I need to know about you. Seriously dude, WTF.

For the record JJ has yet to be contacted by the university regarding his dismissal from the team. He attended finals week and his grades have been good all semester.

That sucks, JJ was the heart of this team this year. If you cant see that you are blind. He has made great plays for us since he has been here. Yes he screwed up, I dont know what went on behind the scenes and neither do any of you. It would be great to get him back. If his teammates allow it

He called himself "The Dog" yet he ruled at football more like a blessed king,
when against those Dawgs in '16, he rose to score for Vols over everything.
He won against the Tabors and those haters; all saw Jauan wrecked Gators.
If Jennings plays, opponents can only look... like the rest of the spectators!

It's another touchdown! See enemies roasted.
Hands up "to Tennessee" like referees toasted.
