Juaun Jennings communication with Pruitt

Nothing will change in the locker room if Pruitt takes cancers like Jennings back. I’d expect JP to move on from guys like this.

Hate on Bama all you want but if they have self centered guys like JJ, they are removed real fast.

Or maybe one strike you're out. That would send a message to everyone else. And, if he didn't get a strike, he might end up with one of life's wake up calls we all get along the way.

Kid deserves a second chance IF he’s being sincere. I’d say allow him to come back under certain conditions and with zero tolerance. Emotions get the best of us sometimes but it doesn’t mean we can’t learn and move on.

I think him being kicked off the team was warranted. It was an odd situation though with staff transition and all the chaos. Ultimately, assuming he is academically eligible, it's up to the new staff and players.

If they are good with a second chance, so am I.

LOL! Players get in trouble all the time at Bama and discipline is always handled internally which means little or no punishment. What a joke.

How many second chances you want to give him? Wonder what happened with his charges as a freshman when he got assault and theft charges. Don’t forget the drug possession charge as well. Plus, what if he decides he doesn’t like Pruitt for some reason? You going to let him speak badly about your program or your assistants?

Bring him back. Kicked off for speaking the truth about that pitiful coaching staff

You want to give a license to player to pop off on a profanity laced tirade on social media anytime they think some “truth” needs to be told? Good grief, talk about a unwelcome distraction and cancer to the whole program that would cause.

So if he reaches out to coach Pruitt I would guess Pruitt hears his case. And then looks at all of the evidence and information, more I’m sure than us blindly debating on here based on a game winning catch.

And Pruitt will make a decision. And I bet we don’t get to hear much about it unless JJ goes on another world class rant at which point we’ll know Pruitt said no!

At that point, his (Jennings') stock would be lower than whale poo and would not have an opportunity to go anywhere but an FCS program with little fanfare.

He has an out at this point to say "I was wrong, got emotional at the wrong time and I'd love to be able to prove I'm worthy of coming back and making a positive contribution to the team I dedicated myself to when I signed up to play." Maybe CJP says "okay, you start as a walk on and work your way back up along with maintaining X.X GPA" as well as other unspecified, TBD conditions and go from there. Maybe CJP says "nope, hit the road, Jack. But we'll try to help you find a landing spot." It's the first real player development "test" for a new coach.

If he goes on another online rant against another coaching staff, he ruins any chance he has of playing big boy ball again.

If Pruitt wants him. That’s up to him

I don’t know if he’s eligible or not. If I was AD or CJP, if he wants to come back to the program, he can be re-admitted to UT as a probationary student on his own dime.

Straight classroom Spring semester while scholarship is evaluated. No contact with team.

Starts Summer Pre-Season as a walk-on on the scout team. Evaluation at prior to 1st game.

If all conditions met, then he can play under the proviso of two strikes...
Yeah. 'Pretty much the way I'm looking at this young man's situation. He did some dumb things and, without all those extenuating circumstances with his team falling apart, he should otherwise not be re-admitted to the roster. If he stridently adheres to criteria such as or similar to that mentioned above, then Mister Jennings could become eligible to reapply for his scholarship and brought back in, but only after a final review with AD Fulmer and CJP and Ms. Davenport, et al. Let's remember all the times Pig Howard was allowed back into the fold, only to fall back into his same old habits. History tends to repeat. Being outspoken as he is, Juan Jennings is capable of being either a team crippling tumor, or he could provide a lot of spark to this promising new chapter in UT Vols football. I have confidence (yet still with fingers crossed) in our two new leaders and their staffs. GBO!

I will follow Pruitts lead on this. If CJP thinks he belongs, then I agree. If he is judged to be not good for the team then he needs to stay gone.

There would be no posters on VN if Freak banned posters for going off on tirades about the last coaching staff, lol.

Seriously, was there ever speculation about why he was really dismissed? Seems like there had to be more.

I've heard he's missed classes like he missed being on the sidelines supporting his teammates. Let's wait to the grades come out and see after finals if he's even academically eligible.

I was and still am somewhat against him coming back but, if the grades aren't there, indefinite suspension with access to the team ONLY if they agree. If he gets academically eligible for fall, let him back probationally.

I suspect that Jennings realized early on that he could not play another season for BUTch so he made up his mind to go NFL. The injury messed up his chances but should he be able to play on the Vandy game he could show scouts that he fully recovered from injury
By missing Vandy game and not having s bowl game he will end up being like Marquez North and not drafted

CJP hasn't given him a second chance yet- it was the old guard. You have to give him a first chance before you give him a second chance. If I'm CJP, lay down the law with nothing ambiguous. Let the team know what constraints JJ is under so when the time does come, they know it's JJ who pulled the trigger on himself, not CJP.

And if it does happen, it's a strong message to the others to keep their nose clean and do what it required.

If there are boundaries that are honored, I think you will see quite a few defections along the way. CBJ seemed soft in enforcing rules. That may not be the case with CJP.

I would like to see CJP speak to the team to get their thoughts on reinstatement. He should also review the facts of any other things that led to the dismissal. Based upon that information, CJP would choose whether JJ has the privilege of being a member of the team and under what conditions.

Here it is Mr. Jennings is responsible for everything he has done if he had such pasion for Tennessee football he wouldn't have been sitting in his dorm stoned and abandoned his team. He made all those decisions and he is responsible for every one of them. Nobody else is on the hook for them he owns them. Now we will test his manhood and see what he does. He can take ownership and beg his fellow players and coaches to take another chance on him and then we will see what we see. If they take a chance on him that is.
That should be a team decision

How about doing the right thing no matter the coach? Doesn’t matter if it occurred under Butch. Are you telling me a potential recruit that doesn’t know how to stay out of trouble should get a chance just because it’s under a high school coach?

JJ can best serve as a horrible warning that there are lines you do not cross. Had he simply quit, that's one thing. I would be all in favor of looking at reinstatement.

But that next step he did, telling the world of his grievance, of his own volition burned a bridge that needs to stay burnt.

You make for bad precedent if you bring him back.

One writer portrayed JJ as the anti-Dobbs, meaning you had to worry ALL the time about what he was up to.

Hate he got hurt, but recall that many of us asked throughout the season, where he was.

He needs to find another place to play ball.

Not saying exactly that. I don't know what happened to each player under CBJ, but it appears that rules were applied inconsistently to different players. Based on what? I don't know, but I do respect Jones right (and Hoke too) to enforce discipline.

Most of what we know on VolNation is speculation at best, so everyone of us could be way off base in our evaluation of this situation. As a parent, I do know a little about setting unambiguous boundaries and being consistent in the consequences when those boundaries are crossed. Pat Summit was a master at setting and enforcing those boundaries. God bless her.

And- if it's anything like my kids, they actually crave and desire a little structure in their world. It's not a bad thing.

I like JJ. His interview when he burned Tabor was a thing of passion and beauty. I'd love to see this kid turn his life in a good direction and maybe CJP could help do that.

I think he should have been kicked off and was given multiple chances.

He was reportedly found stoned out if his mind prior to the Game Tech game

He abandoned his team after the injury

He went on the bizarre internet rant after not being able to play QB???

Was arrested for drug possession

Was arrested for assault and theft

Lame duck staff or not, I think they were at the end of their rope with him.

It wouldn't be a second chance, more like an 8th chance
All of those speculations came from the haslam mouthpiece hyams, to keep vol fans from revolting on Currie, i would be suprised if half of it was true.

Yeah, hey kids warning, if you dont let us exploit you for millions and if you think about questioning the way we do it, we will ruin the rest of your life. Sounds like a good warning for kids that want to come here right?

If Pruitt took him back and you move him to Safety he would be elite. Could you imagine him Byrd, and Warrior in the same Defensive backfield. Jesus Christ!
