Which begs, why hasn’t he been rested. He’s still running through workouts, according to the latest report. How about a walking boot and no physical activity for an extended period? Reevaluate.

This and the Cade situation make you question if this staff knows how to deal with injury, or whether they are getting good diagnosis and counsel From their medical folks.
That is a question for the Doctors. They make those decisions.

I’m going to keep saying it until you non-basketball, UT fanboys get it through your impossibly thick skulls that he’s terrible on defense and average on offense.

Not once in my lifetime have I seen a true center who could play basketball at Tennessee. We’ve had some pretty good 6’8” and 6’9” guys man the center position, but anyone 6’11” or taller has had difficulty walking and chewing gum.
LMAO, I have coached basketball for 23 years. You should try it. With the level of expertise you are displaying you will fit right in with some of the elite caliber coaching I witness in the local travel basketball scene.

And he literally played 25+ mpg and went for 16/9 in his last game but was hurt in that game and several others where he played 25+ based on reports yet here we are. I hope it's a great sign and he plays tonight.
That was also before he let Barnes know that was foot was pretty sore. JP wouldn’t be practicing like normal if he was still having significant soreness

I’ve played for plenty of coaches who didn’t know what they’re doing, more than 23 years ago. I wouldn’t trust any of them to be smart enough to run anything of high stakes value.

What was your summer job? Lawn care or lead lifeguard? 🤣

The stats speak for themselves

I don’t see anything there that addressed points allowed. Can you help me find it?

I did find that Tobe Awaka is 23rd in defensive ratings.

The only stats I could find which were based solely on one’s individual performance was “Box BPR’s” JP Estrella is ranked somewhere around 1,200 in the NCAA in “Box Defensive BPR” at .36 (out of players with at least 400 possessions - which was the default setting).

The rest of the BPR statistics rely on who’s on the court with him vs who is on the court against him, then weighted against the “average team”. It doesn’t sound very reliable, IMO. We’re not trying to compare SEC players to Ohio Valley players. We know that mid majors who excel end up in the power conferences eventually. Mainly, we should be concerned with stacking up against other Power NCAA tourney teams, which I have found no reliable source to compare.

When Estrella is on the court the team has a Net efficiency of 41.6 and when he’s off it’s 20.3.

He has the 2nd highest replacement on/off on the team behind Gillespie
