Good god, you are so full of it. I don't understand how you have such a passion for basketball, but you're so clueless on some of the most obvious aspects of it.

I like Towns but he is not definitively better than the other two taken behind him.

If Towns played the minutes that Oakfor and Russell did. He would've been a dominate double double guy. His range on defense is something that we didn't get to really see. He can cover a lot of ground.

Glad for JR -- not so much for another Vol going to another crappy NBA team though -- wish Jordan McRae and Tobias had better teams also.

I like Towns....deangelo is the one I'm most unsure of but I thought Okafor was the best player at the start of the college season, during the college season, and going into the draft....I was jumping off my couch when I saw that my sixers had a chance to get him.....Thank you Lakers!!!

Old school! I'd say 75% on here don't have a clue about DJ.

I know, I know. But here's some info for them:

1978-79 NBA All-Defensive (1st)
1979-80 NBA All-Defensive (1st)
1979-80 NBA All-NBA (2nd)
1980-81 NBA All-Defensive (1st)
1980-81 NBA All-NBA (1st)
1981-82 NBA All-Defensive (1st)
1982-83 NBA All-Defensive (1st)
1983-84 NBA All-Defensive (2nd)
1984-85 NBA All-Defensive (2nd)
1985-86 NBA All-Defensive (2nd)
1986-87 NBA All-Defensive (1st)

Hall of Fame.

I think Josh could end up being a better jump shooter than DJ was, and do all the other stuff.

Miami is a crappy team?

Didnt make the playoffs and James is gone -- maybe not so much crappy, but they will probably just be in a rebuilding phase for a couple years (unlike Orlando and Philly, where its taking a decade or more).

I disagree with that....okafor will be kicking his a$$ in the pros

You may think he will be a better pro. He could be. But Towns, while not as heavy, is longer and taller with more reach, more athletic, a better passer, a better shooter, and the d isn't even close. Okafor is more polished in the post with more moves. What other area is he better in?

It's a fans bias, he's a huge sixers fan, if Okafor had gone 1 and Towns fallen to the Sixers it would be the same argument with different names.

They are very very similar as passers and rebounders.....okafor has a much better and more polished offensive game while Towns is much better on defense at this point...watch the video where they put Duncan playing along side Okafor....it is awesome to watch.

That's not true besides the one comment about him kicking his a$$....I think Okafor will be the best pro from that draft but would have been happy with towns.

How could you say that anyways? Have you seen my opinions on several of our recent recruits? Last year, I liked Embiid but wanted Wiggins and possibly Parker over him.

Thats sick. I remember DJ well. But had no idea he was that productive.

I think Oakfor is going to be in the league a LONG time. His vision of passing from the post is something I haven't seen in a while. He has the motor to develop post moves. I'm cheering for Russell because he's from My area. I watched some games and he just had a different swagger about him. He can be a distributor in a offense with little problem.

I like Russell....he just seemed to struggle badly against better teams but that could be be of who played beside him.

I know he went to school down there at Monteverde, but it hurts me knowing he was an in state guy for us. I loved watching him at OSU though, better than UL I guess.

Okafor vs Towns debate is useless. We've argued it before. It's an opinionated question. I think Towns is the better all around player. Okafor is a given on one side of the court and has potential on the other to become very solid. What happens when Okafor has a bad game inside scoring? What does he do well? Towns can have a bad night on either side and still be a force on the other. Either way they both should have very long and productive careers.
