I think the Steelers or Cardinals are the best fit for Dobbs but I didn't even think about Saints thats interesting. Brees on last few years, plus Domes play in Dobbs favor too.
Dobbs would need to improve to be anywhere near McNabb. That completion % statistic is meaningless without detail. McNabb was throwing the ball downfield far more than Dobbs
Go look them up yourself. They have been posed several times on this site and twitter.
Looks like Josh is also visiting with the Kansas City Chiefs. http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2017/...urth-known-qb-to-visit-the-kansas-city-chiefs
Another good situation for him. Kansas City has a playoff caliber roster. And Andy Ried is a QB guru of a head coach. Plus Alex Smith is erratic enough to give Dobbs a chance to play early if he struggles or gets hurt like he did in 2013 when Kaepernick took the starting job in San Francisco from him.
Interesting you should mention Andy Reid, because Josh Dobbs' combine results compare favorably to Donovan McNabb's:
- 6'2, 223 lbs (McNabb) v. 6'3, 216 lbs (Dobbs)
- 4.64 40-yard times (both)
- 33" vertical jumps (both)
- 9'9" broad (McNabb) v. 10'2" broad (Dobbs)
- 7.30 3-cone (McNabb) v. 6.75 3-cone (Dobbs)
Their college senior-year passing stats are also very similar:
- 62.5% (McNabb) v. 63.0% (Dobbs)
- 194 yds/game (McNabb) v. 226 yds/game (Dobbs)
- 22 pass TDs (McNabb) v. 27 pass TDs (Dobbs)
- 5 INTs (McNabb) v. 12 INTs (Dobbs)
McNabb thrived in a West Coast NFL offense despite operating a triple-option attack in college; why can't Dobbs do the same from a spread-option offense?
