You can be mobile and run.

That's gravy though. In the NFL you have to be able to play from the pocket fundamentally.

Cam newton is 6' 5", 240 lbs.

If he can't make a living as a qb running the ball.... no one can. It wasn't until he developed in the pocket that the panthers offense took off 2 years ago.

Dobbs is a poor mans version of that, and until he develops as a pocket passer, he'll never make it in the NFL.

Situation will be important. Place like Pittsburgh would be ideal for him to do that.

I agree with what you're saying here, but the difference is that Dobbs can't hold the ball and take the punishment that Cam Newton does. Cam and Rothlisberger can get away with that because of their size. Dobbs has to get rid of the ball early and accurately, and he doesn't have the talent to do that.

I realize that he is just listing SEC teams, but Temple has 2 players drafted, so 3 isn't so spectacular.

Yes. I realize that Dobbs is not small. However, he took a ton of hits in college. He cannot take even a fraction of those hits in the NFL because the players are bigger, stronger, and faster. Dobbs is not big enough or strong enough to hold up. At the end of the day, the best part of his game is his running. In the NFL, that becomes a liability because he will get knocked out of the game.

As for talent, he showed the ability.... sparingly as it was... to do what you were talking about. He made some throws, especially against Florida, where he did just that.

Consistently? No. Hence the reason he's still available. Accuracy is an issue and he's never shown the ability to make NFL throws on a consistent basis.

He's a project.

I'm still right about Dobbs NFL potential. These dumb GMs did the same thing last year with Dak. They'll regret letting Josh fall to day 3. Just like they regret now letting Dak fall to day 3.

Actually if you watched NFL Live yesterday, Tim Hasslebeck did a nice breakdown of Dobbs tape and showed how his skills translate nicely to the NFL. While also showing tape on Deshaun Watson and how he will struggle in the NFL.

GMs are just really stupid. Its the reason why every year a stud QB falls to the 3rd and 4th rounds.

Dobbs will make these GMs look as stupid as Dak made them look last year.

But Mitch Trubisky, Deshone Kizer, Davis Webb, and CJ Bethard are?

Every year we know there are busts and steals in the NFL draft. Those guys picked ahead of Josh are surefire busts while he will be a steal.

Honestly it doesn't matter where you are picked in the draft. What matters is what you do with it. Once Josh is in the league he will turn into a superstar like Dak Prescott.
