Per Jim Wexell, publisher Steel City Insider at 247Sports:
From the notebook of a sportswriter who isn't sure you should buy the raves of the just-completed Steelers spring in shorts, but is certain you should buy this:
* Mason Rudolph probably has the weakest arm of the four quarterbacks. It's apparent when they're throwing outs. But he throws a beautiful, arching, accurate deep ball, has good mobility for a big pocket passer, and has the kind of enthusiasm and thirst for learning that will make him an effective leader.
* It's not inaccurate to say he could become the No. 2 this season, but I can't imagine anyone with the team saying that at this point -- unless they're buried in their work and didn't watch any college football before being surprised by what he's shown this spring.
* As with return specialists, the preseason games will determine the quarterback pecking order.
LMAO I don't know who this clown is from 247, but the Steelers didn't draft Rudolph to be a camp arm. Jones is terrrible, Dobbs is worse. Ghee, wonder who #2 will be?
