Josh Dobbs (merged)

How on earth is that a bad sign? All it shows is they know what Landry Jones is. TRASH. They want to see if Dobbs and Rudolph are better.

You make it sound like Landry Jones is some sure thing. Even Pro Bowl QBs have been replaced by young guys who go out on the field and performance. Anytime you don't play as an athlete its a risk because the guy behind you can come in, ball out, and take the job from you.

The only way things can be bad for Dobbs is if he doesn't play well. Whether or not Landry Jones sits is irrelevant.
If Dobbs can't subplant trash as the backup, what does that make Dobbs?

You have another lesson in football basics on the way.

Well then football genius, explain to me how Landry Jones NOT PLAYING is a bad sign for Josh?

If anything its a bad sign for Landry Jones. It means the Steelers know EXACTLY what he is (which is why they have drafted 2 QBs in the last 2 years) and they don't think an extra preseason game will show them anything. However, they want to see if Dobbs and Rudolph are better than what they have seen from Landry Jones over the last 5 years.

This move is proof Landry Jones doesn't control his own destiny. His roster spot is contingent on what Dobbs does while Josh controls his own destiny.

If Dobbs balls out this preseason the backup job (and potentially starting given Ben's injury) is his.

The only thing you got right is they don't need to see play any extra preseason action from Jones.

Come on, use that fake Duke degree to think it out.

seriously mods, why do y'all let this troll stay here?

Lol....another example of D4H talking out of both sides of his mouth and setting it up that he'll be right no matter what.

If Dobbs plays poorly tonight = "MEANS NOTHING!"
If Dobbs plays lights out tonight = "HE'S KILLING IT AND IS OBVIOUSLY AWESOME!"

So if you know how the story ends Professor X, then I ask again how much do you want to bet on Dobbs being the best QB of all time? Also you just lied, you said you don't know have the journey clear, but you previously said Dobbs will lead the Steelers to a championship this year. So make up your mind, do you know the journey or not?
And don’t forget, after watching Josh Allen go 9-19 with the Bills’ 3rd teamers in ONE PRESEASON GAME that “means nothing”, he proceeded to declare him verified/certified as a future all-time great. Such a hypocrite

I’m all but convinced Freak has him on the payroll to drive traffic. He’s so nonsensical and so incredibly void of any logic and common sense that legit posters on VN can’t help themselves to go at him, which drives poster activity in most threads the idiot posts in.

No offense Freak. 😁

I've heard the theory that Freak is D4H.....i don't buy it though lol.

We're a little over 2 weeks from D4H explaining away another failed prediction by saying "Who could have possibly predicted that the Steelers would cut Josh Dobbs?!?!" when everyone else in this thread (and others) were telling him for months that the Steelers were going to cut Josh Dobbs.

Or we could be 3 weeks from Josh Dobbs starting the Steelers season opener against the Browns after winning the backup job over Landry Jones and Big Ben is out because he is still dealing with concussion issues?

I trust my ability to evaluate talent and Josh Dobbs is the greatest QB prospect I've ever seen. So you see its IMPOSSIBLE for anything but incredible success to come Dobbs way.

What impressed me about Josh Allen wasn't the stats. It was how he looked and that is always important. The results of preseason games like stats or game scores are irrelevant. But how a player looks physically and the sort of skill set he shows in terms of arm talent and athleticism are important. And in that one preseason game Josh Allen showed everything I saw on film from his college days. He was big, physical, athletic, and talented. He also exhibited that unique arm talent than makes him a once in a generation prospect and well as surprising athleticism. I knew he was athletic but he looked even more athletic than I thought he would be.

Josh Allen is going to tear apart the NFL and all you people who doubted him are feel really stupid for ever doubting him.

Roethlisberger made the trip to Green Bay, so he's on the low concern end of the concussion protocol, if not completely cleared.

Do we need to make a list of all the misses you have made with your ability to evaluate talent?

Writing is on the wall. Dobbs will be cut sometime during camp and will be picked up by someone else. AAF and XFL are looking for QB's. Blake Sims is playing in the AAF for goodness sake.

CFL would be good for his athleticism ... but that wide of a field, he doesn't do well trying to throw outside the numbers in the NFL so that won't be his strong suit in Canada.

He's not going to drop all the way out of the NFL. Not for a while, at least.

I know.....I said he would be picked up by someone else. I just don't think he will ever start in the NFL. AAF/XFL are places he could start.
