Josh Dobbs (merged)

D4H— if Dobbs played at Arizona do you still think he’d be s superstar in NFL? Or you saying that cause he went to TN?

Did Antonio Callaway go to Tennessee? How about James Conner last year before the draft?

I evaluate talent. I would be just as high on Dobbs regardless of where he played.

The Steelers have been discussing all offseason about hopes of drafting Ben’s replacement. D4H’s refusal to acknowledge it just further proves he’s a troll, an idiot, or both.

Just remember the Steelers cut James Harrison many times before he finally developed into an All Pro and Defensive Player of the Year.

Green Bay Packers also cut Kurt Warner before he turned into a Hall of Famer for the Rams.

NFL teams are known to make dumb decisions. Wasting a 3rd rounder on a scrub like Mason Rudolph when you just drafted the greatest QB in NFL history (Josh Dobbs) is gonna join the long list of dumb decisions made by NFL teams.

We’ll know Dobbs’ future by August. The Steelers won’t keep 4 qbs. They obviously keep Big Ben and Rudolph. Last year, Dobbs couldn’t beat out Jones for the backup role. If he doesn’t overtake Jones this summer, Dobbs will no longer be a Steeler.

Then the Steelers will be joining the Green Bay Packers as a team that let go of a future Hall of Fame QB.

Nonetheless, I doubt this happens. Dobbs is made for competition. I expect him to raise up to the challenge. Landry Jones is definitely on his way out.

Don't think anyone would disagree, the only rub comes with the claim that he is a future HoFer who reminds experts of Randall Cunningham. Dobbs gonna do great things in this world, but a starting NFL QB was never and will never be a possibility.

I'm gonna enjoy upping posts like this in due time.

Please continue to give me good material.

No doubt about this. Josh Dobbs may be the finest human and student athlete that’s ever walked the campus in Knoxville. I wish him well and hope that he finds another home soon, can somehow stick on an nfl roster for 10-12 years, maybe even get a cup of coffee on a 53-man roster, maybe even take a handful of nfl snaps on Sundays. I’d love it if the Titans took a flyer on him and picked him up at some point to back up Mariota if, more likely when, the Steelers cut him loose.

Just wanted to say that because I hate that in our haste to refute and fire back at the ridiculousness that is D4H, that such a fine young man like Joshua Dobbs winds up being the unfortunate pawn in all these “discussions” ....he deserves better than D4H setting up as a virtual piñata on VN.

Stop with this fake crap about caring for Dobbs. You know good and well you are rooting against him because you don't want me to be right.

You are happy at the thought that the Steelers might release Dobbs and he never plays in the NFL.

Stop pretending like you care about him. Your constant latching onto any piece of negative news around him exposes you and the type of person you are. You care more about being right than a young man like Josh Dobbs fulfilling his dreams of being a NFL QB.

This material beats the hell out of the dumb babble you troll this board with.

I just hope by this time next year when Dobbs is holding up the Lombardi trophy as a Super Bowl championship starting QB that you guys don't pretend like you saw it all along as was the case with Alvin Kamara last year.

Let it be known that I am on an island by myself right now when it comes to Josh Dobbs and his future prospects as a starter in the NFL. No one else on this site believes in him but me. PERIOD.

I better not see y'all getting on his bandwagon next year when he is the talk of the NFL.

Didn't you say that about dobbs last year? Not that I put any credit into the dumb **** you infect this board with, but you did say it.

You are always on an island because you continually say dumb **** and luck out once or twice against the hundred that you swing and miss badly.

So if (when) he's not, can we bump this post and **** on you? And will you take it like a man or ***** out like you always do when you are wrong?

I'm just letting you know that I don't want to see you acting like y'all did last year with Alvin Kamara.

Right now I'm the only one who still believes that Dobbs will be a star in the NFL. And I expect that to be acknowledged next year. You guys tried to act like you all saw what Alvin would be in the NFL when the truth is I was the only one.

Dobbs is just a more magnified example of me being the only one who believes in him.

You act like everyone thought he would be a bum in the NFL lol. You literally say things like HoFer and greatest ever with 90% of your predictions. You are changing the narrative, but most of us see right through your dumb **** lol.

In fact it was the opposite. Everyone who knows anything about pro football knows that Kamara landing in NOLA under Sean Peyton and then Brees as QB would be the perfect marriage. Kamara exceeded my expectations and I hope he keeps it up this fall.

I was the only person ANYWHERE that had Alvin rated as the #1 RB in the 2017 NFL draft and the next Marshall Faulk. That's a FACT.

The rest of you were just saying he would be a good player in the NFL. You never said he would be the BEST and a SUPERSTAR. I was the only one that correctly predicted Alvin's level of success. The only one.

And right now, I'm the only one saying Dobbs will be a STAR in the NFL. The only difference is unlike Alvin who y'all acknowledged could play in the NFL, y'all are saying Dobbs isn't NFL material which makes the distinction more pronounced but essentially it's the same thing.

You say this about every damn player though lol. It's the same when a certain someone here post a thread every damn year how we gonna whip that bama ass.

There's a difference between saying he would do well in New Orleans versus saying he would be a SUPERSTAR in the NFL.

I'm the only person ANYWHERE that was saying Alvin would be a SUPERSTAR. That's different than just saying he would do well in the NFL. Lots of guys do well in the NFL and become effective players. Very few become SUPERSTARS like Alvin Kamara. And I'm the only one who said that about him. PERIOD.

No I don't. Go and look up my prospect rankings for this year's draft. I'm very precise about the level of success I expect from players. I don't say everyone will be a star.

In fact, last year I was attacked for saying Derek Barnett (who all of you thought was our best NFL prospect) would NOT be a star in the NFL.

So contrary to what you said, I don't project stardom for every prospect whether they went to Tennessee or not.

Congratulations I guess..??? Is that what you need? Job well done. You were right. If you have any faults, which if someone asked you, you certainly do not, or it’s that you work too hard evaluating players and don’t get paid for it. You’ve self proclaimed to be smarter than NFL scouts, GM’s, coaches. So what’s in it foryou? The occasional atta boy (not a racist comment) from the VN community? The way you describe it is that we’re in the presence of greatness, so shut up and take it as gospel because you are all knowing. That’s why people give you so much crap.

Its not even that. If D4H had said he thought Dobbs would have a solid NFL career, then that would be fine. But he has said Dobbs will be an all time great, the GOAT actually. Thats just straight up idiocy.
