Josh Briscoe's question to Mike Hamilton...

can we start a grass roots movement to get Briscoe benched or taken off scholly?

I'm not trying to be rude towards your post. I realize they are immature grown men. I am for giving most of them a break....their spring break. It should start now. All yesterday showed was how immature and undisciplined they truly are. If CF was a true disciplinarian, he himself would not have wanted Briscoe acting as such, nor would encourage such (and I am not implying that he did). The actions of yesterday are just a carryover from their on field play. Somebody really, IMHO, needs to jerk a knot in their asses.
100% agree with your assessment Billy Bob!

I just want to know, these last three games is it still Tennessee versus the World? or are we going back to playing Wyoming, Vandy, and Kentucky?

Right now, the World is 6-3. I hope we're simply playing the schools mentioned.

Decades back when I played hs ball a player wouldnt have dared open his mouth, or even been there. I realize it's a div 1 college team , and a emotional charged situation...I realize they were there to support their coach, but a disciplined player with respect would realize anything he had to add would be irrelevant to the situation at that time and place.

According to some goobers in the fanbase John Adams and his crew got Fulmer fired.

Therefore, by the stroke of the keyboard this can be done. You know if Adams writes it, it has to happen.

After reading that, I would be helping Briscoe pack his bags if someone kicked him out of here. You don't bash the people that are paying for your school. Get the hell out of Tennesee, Briscoe.

I'd just like to say that I know Josh, and he's a great guy. He's very polite and great to be around. I'm dumbfounded that after 1 image of a guy laughing on the sidelines, you officially know his back story. Calling a guy names for standing up for his coach is unbelievable.

I think it's the way he did it. I'm sure he's a great guy, but he was outspoken and disrespectful with those actions.

As for the laughter, had the announcers not put a story with it on the air, he probably wouldn't be catching **** about it.

Its fine to laugh on the sidelines but not just after you just choked your a** off and dropped a important pass that hit you right in the hands. It really made it worse when Stephens chewed him out, I like the fire nick shows, we need more of it.

Maybe he was laughing about how much a disappointment he's been this year...oh wait, that's not really a laughing matter is it ?! :p

There is no doubt they are all a tight knit family, that is what makes it so hard to get rid of someone when they aren't perfroming. Happens in the business world everyday. You can't hang around and be buddies all day long while the business goes down the tube.

I wonder what Fulmer has said to Briscoe, if anything. He clearly didn't say anything after Monday considering he wasn't finished on Wednesday. He'll either never see the field again or I suppose nothing will happen, but he's likely to get booed if he catches a pass. That will be very funny.

Alright Gaines,

I am new to the volnation website, and have not made any posts or replies yet, until now. Here is the issue I have with Josh Briscoe:

1. Effort This young man does not give his 100% effort on the field. The interception in question that led to his chewing by Stephens and the "smile" was because he did not complete the route he was supposed to run....a 15 yd out pattern. If you "watch the tape" of him and his out pattern, he stopped running once he made his break.
He did not and DOES not go after the ball when it is thrown to him. THAT is why he was chewed out by the Sophomore and deserved it.

2. He's a drive killer. In the last two games, Briscoe has been on the receiving end of third down passes that, had he only gone forward and knocked some heads around, would have led to 1st downs. The distance in question for him to get the 1st down is negligible for a college athlete...he can move the corner back two feet and get that first down.

3.Maturity Briscoe's comments at the press conference were neither appropriate for the time or place. That's a question to be delivered in private to the AD where they can look eye to eye as men. It was cowardly to do that in front of the press and coach Fulmer, and of course immature.

On the field and off the field I am not impressed with Josh Briscoe. To defend him by simply playing "devils advocate" without having any factual ground to stand on is just as poor a choice by you as it was for Briscoe to open his mouth in that press conference.

Agreed, and welcome to VN Smokey.

Where has all this emotion been all year that we saw at the press conference. We can complain and bitch as fans but the players and i repeat PLAYERS cost Phil Fulmer and his staff there jobs.We may noy not be a great team but we have better athletes than 3-6 and soon to be 4-6.We lack motivation and drive and Briscoe laughing on sidelines several games ago shows what he is all about. You can't tell me that something hasn't been going on all year over there. We demand and deserve better.

First of all, Leave Josh Brisco alone.. If he has been laughing on the side lines and showing signs of “who cares” attitude it’s not his fault. It’s the coaches! You can’t blame the kids for attitude problems, that’s all on the coaches. Now im a huge Fulmer fan he is even a friend of the family, but I do agree it was time for a change. Fulmer is/was one of the best coaches in Tennessee history he is not only a great coach but a GREAT person as well… he would get kids active in religion and push them to do the right thing. But these past few years the discipline level has fell over board. That’s on the coaches! These kids need someone who will grab them up by the head and TEACH them discipline! I don’t care how many 5 star athletes you have on your team, with out discipline you will not have a good team.. Then comes leadership! I have not seen one player LEAD this team.. iv seen a lot of talk but no action. Eric Berry is the closest thing Ut has to a leader and he is only a sophomore. WHERES THE GUYS WHO’S BEEN AROUND A FEW YEARS… I want to see John Gruden hired

Briscoe's a player. He's there every day busting his tail and risking his body for the University of Tennessee. You guys are fans who might tune in on Saturdays and risk carpal tunnel blogging on a message board. What on God's green earth makes you think you're better able to comment than him?

as many passes that brisco has dropped this season maybe he has carpal tunnel. I know crompton does of the mind
