Well I guess Austin appleby is just as amazing as Dobbs then

Going by your logic UF was 5 games worse in 2017 without Appleby

You see how stupid this is right smh

This is where the rest of my argument comes in. Did you not see my previous posts where I discussed what happened to Tennessee's offense after Dobbs left?

Florida was not good offensively in 2016. They fell off in 2017 because their defense lost nearly every starter from the elite group they had in 2016. Guys like Marcus Maye, Jarrad Davis, Alex Anzalone, Quincy Wilson, Teez Tabor, Caleb Brantley, and Joey Ivey were all drafted from that defense.

Tennessee in 2016 scored a SCHOOL RECORD for points scored and led the SEC in offensive TDs. In 2017, Tennessee was at the bottom of the conference in almost every offensive category. They were terrible on defense both years. They suffered lots of injuries both years. The only difference between 2016 and 2017 was Josh Dobbs.

Dobbs was the sole reason Tennessee won 9 games in 2016. Appleby was not the reason Florida won in 2016. That defense filled with NFL players was.

Bump I’d love to see him respond to that one

I know he has to feel stupid a lot with the arguments he attempts to make or he just a flat out troll

Worst part is his holier then thou attitude like you are 100% right which you seem to be in your head. That my friend is laughable the draft is a crap shoot

Who balls out and who flames out in the league is extremely hard to predict nobody does it and acts like It’s flawless except D4H

For example still can’t give Joey Bosa his props but thinks Brad Kaaya is gonna have a careee like Matt Ryan

What in the holy ****

Well only Josh Dobbs plus the schools #6 all time leading rusher plus a 1000 yard/10 TD now NFL receiver plus the NFL rookie of the year and a “future HOF” RB.

But, yeah, besides those guys the only difference was Josh Dobbs

Are you actually mentioning Jalen Hurd? Its just surprising to me to see him mentioned in a positive light. According to most Tennessee he was more of a liability than a strength. As much as I love Jalen Hurd's talent, he was terrible in 2016. He wasn't close to the player he was in 2015. He hurt the team more he helped. Tennessee played better in 2016 without Jalen Hurd than with him.

With regard to Alvin Kamara, he was barely used last year. At the beginning he was behind an ineffective Jalen Hurd and after he broke out against Texas A&M, he was injured the following week against Alabama and only came back for the last 2 games of the regular season. Alvin Kamara is an elite NFL talent but he was hardly a factor in 2016.

And finally Josh Malone. He was a total by-product of Josh Dobbs. Malone is a decent player who can be a #3 WR in the NFL but he's hardly a difference maker. Josh Dobbs made him.

Josh Dobbs was the only difference between Tennessee's record breaking offense in 2016 and the totally inept offense we saw in 2017. It was all Josh Dobbs.

You were on Hurd's jock until he quit, and you knocked anyone who spoke of Hurd in the way you're speaking now. Your assessment of him is complete hindsight.

Another chest thumper for D4H. He thinks hes really a professional analyst. Its too bad plenty of writers and analysts have been tooting that same horn for months now.

Allen might have the most upside of all the QBs. He is reminiscent of Roethlesberger. Jackson, who knows, at least he will be fun to watch.

Using D4H’s logic Peyton Manning is the greatest QB of all time.

He doesn’t play for a season with Colts and they end up last place with the #1pick (Andrew Luck).

Tom Brady (who most say is the goat) doesn’t play for a season and Matt Cassell wins 11 games.

Seems cut and dry to me.

I've always said Tom Brady was a product of Bill Belichek and the New England system.

Also note that in 2016 when Brady was suspended for the first 4 games New England still went 3-1 with both Jimmy Garrapolo and 3rd stringer Jacoby Brissett winning games as the starter.

Peyton Manning's knock against being the GOAT for me isn't Tom Brady but rather the fact Manning has perpetually chocked in the playoffs. His teams always have the best record in the regular season as he puts up monster stats then the post-season and he loses the first game at home. His playoff failures are the reason he isn't considered the GOAT. It isn't because of Tom Brady.

Okay. I was wrong about Jalen Hurd in 2016. He regressed terribly and I should have caught onto that quicker. Nonetheless, my point still stands. Josh Dobbs was the only reason we went from a school record offense that led the SEC in offensive TDs in 2016 to an offense that couldn't score a TD for a month in 2017. Kamara barely played that year. Hurd was ineffective. John Kelly played on both teams. The defense sucked both years. And we had tons of injuries both years.

The only difference between the offense in 2016 and 2017 was Josh Dobbs. PERIOD.

Yea Dobbs racked up yards and points against average or bad teams although not always he y’all were extremely lucky to not lose the opener to app st

Just checked it was 13-13 to end regulation haha Dobbsy the great needed OT to beat lowly app st

Please keep the jokes coming it’s you don’t remember any of the many times Dobbs struggled even as a very experienced senior who’d been starting for 3 and half years

You keep mentioning highest scoring offense in UT history like it erases the many flaws in his game it doesn’t

Look the numbers are clear. Tennessee in 2016 had the #2 scoring offense in the SEC. In 2017, they had the WORST scoring offense in the SEC. They played bad teams both years.

Regardless of the excuses you want to cite to explain away this fact, it still remains. You take Dobbs off Tennessee and they become the worst offense in the SEC. With Dobbs they were the 2nd best.

The numbers are pretty clear that Josh Dobbs was the difference at Tennessee. PERIOD.

He doesn’t even take into account Butch’s absolute failure to get Dormandy or who ever else ready

And we all know he had about 2 or 3 years to do that

DH4 is stuck in such a “I’m right you’re wrong” state of mind he rationalizes it anyway he chooses

Literally the one thing Dobbs did better then Watson was shake off tackles, he was tough dude to bring down I’ll give him that

Try comparing passing yards or touchdowns or completion percentage

The man who led the 2nd ranked offense surely can match that

Maybe I’ll get the stats for lolz

I think Josh Allen will end up being a very good QB in the league. He will sit for at least a year, but I think he has the tools to be very good. Same with Jackson, the guy knows how to win and will be playing with a chip on his shoulder.

When it comes to Allen, it’s all about where he goes imo

Right situation I think he could be very good. Wrong situation I can see a colossal bust.

No doubt that he has all the tools in spades. But as we all know, it’s the intangibles that make good to great nfl quarterbacks good to great.....it’s about processing information quickly, knowing where to go with the ball quickly, being accurate throwing the ball, and probably most important....handling and beating pressure. Doesn’t natter how far you can throw a ball or run the 40, if you can’t do those things, success in the nfl isn’t in your future.

Wonderlic scores for the top QB prospects:

Josh Allen: 37
Josh Rosen: 29
Sam Darnold: 28
Baker Mayfield: 25
Lamar Jackson: 13

Take it for what it's worth, which probably isn't much.

My #1 QB continues to check all the boxes. All you Josh Allen doubters are looking dumber by the day.

With regard to Lamar Jackson, that's why I didn't project him be the long term best QB from this draft. His skill set is still ridiculous and he should make a huge impact early on as teams try to catch up with his athleticism. But long term Josh Allen will be the class of this QB draft.

My QB rankings have changed slightly:

1. Josh Allen (Wyoming) - Top 5 Grade.....NFL comp: Dan Marino with mobility
2. Lamar Jackson (Louisville) - Top 10 Grade.....NFL comp: taller Mike Vick
3. Sam Darnold (USC) - Top 10 Grade......NFL comp: Matt Stafford with less arm strength
4. Josh Rosen (UCLA) - mid-1st round Grade......NFL comp: less durable Eli Manning
5. Kyle Lauletta (Richmond) - 2nd round grade....NFL comp: Alex Smith with less athleticism
6. Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma) - 2nd to 3rd round pick.....NFL comp: Case Keenum with more arm strength

You'll see there has been a new addition. I just recently started watching tape on Kyle Lauletta. Came away very impressed. He reminds me a lot of Alex Smith. I could see him developing into a similar QB in the NFL. He's a more impressive NFL prospect than Baker Mayfield. More NFL talent and showed more NFL traits on tape.

So Jackson didn't run the 40 at the combine or his pro day. He doesn't have an agent, and is letting his mom handle scheduling his team meetings, a process which has been anything but smooth.

He really needs to rethink this stance. He's going to cost himself money if he's not careful.
