Jordan Thomas to miss season with knee injury

I don't doubt Boo Carter's skill or will to win. But I do doubt whether he is bulked up enough yet for a full season of SEC hitting.

We'll just have to watch and see how this plays out. Every season is a movie being made in real time, without a script.

I don’t know if he has or not, but he does look taller than he looked in high school.

Charles was the forgotten man in this backend coming into this season. I think this injury happening as early as it has is the only positive here. I think we see Charles moved to the star making sure Carter has the opportunity to learn the defense before simply just being thrown into the fire.

Well…bad word …bad word…I hate this bad word.
hope he heals and can play in 2025.

This is not ideal. 3 days into practice and we lost a starter at the position group were most concerned about. Looks like Boo Carter will get a chance to be That Dude.
Yeah but there's a lot of depth to a position where there's no "we can't afford to lose this guy".
Can't have this on the OL, RB (obvi QB), or LB, and those are more of a key position IMO. We've all assumed the secondary is going to be average regardless of who starts.
It hurts but I'm just trying to look at it as positively as possible.

I was really high on Thomas honestly. He's got a great frame and is a good athlete, and I thought he looked the part on the bowl game. That really sucks, as we're already thin in the secondary. Carter is going to be starting most likely at this point.

Christ. Not even in full pads yet and already an injury. How does this **** happen??

Look, I KNOW it was a totally different level of play, but I played football from pee wee all the way through high school and I can't recall seeing a single season ending injury happen to anybody during practice. It seems like we are good for at least one of these every damn fall camp!

And what about the other teams ??

I’m sure they’re injury free???

Is this the Thomas that made the light box video when he committed? I can't remember for sure

@Brave Vol. I played every sport my school offered also. I can only remember one serious injury that ended the season for a teammate and that was because of his Mom, not the actual injury.

Of course not. But it does make you wonder, why these types of injuries are so common. I can't help but wonder if all of the off-season training players do now puts undo stress on their joints that can actually weaken those areas.

God's Will?

Hendon Hooker tore his ACL just making a quick fake. I'm sure he was well conditioned. He'd taken some big hits all season without issue. He starts a little stutter step, his knee plants awkwardly, and he's badly injured.

I don't know what Thomas' injury is but these guys have done agility drills, etc for about a decade at this point in their lives and have access to trainers and therapeutic staff if anything feels tweaked or weird and still it happens.

Mysterious ways.
