Im beginning to feel sorry for him
Hes really trying his best but his best isnt likely to be good enough
I know I give him a hard time, but it feels like Im kicking a puppy sometimes
I wish him the best, really I do, but I dont think he has a prayer having any greater success than we have already witnessed
Who do you want as a coach? Name a realistic coaching option that you think could come in here and win the SEC.

please someone issue a gag order on CBJ.
Just like i been telling you fan's Butch said it best we are a 8 or 9 win football program, the day's of competing for the SEC every year are over we might compete for the East 2 out of 5 year's with Bama sighing maybe the best class every 21 top 300 ESPN PLAYER'S THE DAWGS 18 LSU 15 and there fans are saying they had a bad year if somehow we could have got 7 out of 10 top TENNESSEE recruits we would had a top 10 class the state of Tennessee is putting more talent than every and we are being raided by seveal SEC SCHOOL nothing changing with this because the next staff will be a 8 or 9 win staff at best unless we get another DD it's all about the money and TENNESSEE will not pay top dollar for coaches so get your pop corn ready 7 and 5 or 8 and 4 is what you will be getting the COACH PHIL curse lives on so if we every get another HALL OF FAME COACH might not should run him of one way i guess we the fan's deserve this because of all the jokes about the HALL OF FAME COACH we once had. Now if we hire the HALL OF FAME COACH as the AD he might lift the curse if not LIBERTY BOWL, MUSIC CITY BOWL BELK BOWL here we come. Some i will piss of but like BIG ORANGE 5 say's the truth is the truth and the truth hurts a lot sometimes like coach said we are back we went 9 and 4 and got a MUSIC CITY BOWL TROPHY.lol: oh I FORGET TO SAY WE GOT THE 3.30 EASTERN TIME GAME 4 SATURDAY'S IN A ROW bAMA GOT 7 5 STAR'S IN THIS CLASS
lol:

I believe Coach Jones knows a lot more than many give him credit for and knows how to apply it. What many fail to remember is that we were severely and I mean severely hurt by the injuries last year. I'm not convinced there weren't some unreported injuries before and even during the South Carolina and Vanderbilt games.
Texas A&M there was no excuse for all those fumbles. I did notice improvement on ball security fundamentals and techniques after that game.
DeBord opened up the playbook more near the end of the season which I believe should have been done much earlier during the meat of the schedule strength instead of waiting until the weaker teams because it proved to be too little, too late.
I don't blame them because they did what they thought best and learned through the painful experiences the hard way.
One thing I noticed about Coach Jones though, is he is willing to make adjustments to course correct.
After I raised a ruckus about ball security and how important it was to drill those fundamentals, I did notice improvements near immediately starting with the very next game.
He addressed penalties, but I'm not convinced there has been enough stress placed on the importance of eliminating them yet.
I believe Coach Jones is working as hard as he can and takes it seriously enough.
I appreciate him for that.
I appreciate the hires he made and hard work he did with the strategic recruiting at key positions with the most need of depth.
Let's rally behind our coach, our staff and our players.
It takes more than just the revenues from ticket sales, donations and merch purchases.
Let's provide the encouragement and let these coaches and players know without a shadow of doubt or wavering that we are grateful for them and know they can achieve something mighty this season when they work together as one team Tennessee.
They'll get it done.
Agree. Jones is the coach now, will be in 17, will be in 18 and probably after that. If you hate him so much, go find another team.
This guy just keeps digging his hole deeper.
All I've witnessed in my lifetime of followimg the Vols is 2 appearances in Atlanta and 5 losing seasons in 15 seasons. I'm grateful to be winning 9 games again.
We haven't had more than 2 PPV games in a season in years and I don't believe we've had any since the SECN first aired. Butch has maxed out. Next man up.CBJ states positive "FACTS", and some automatically turn it into "SO WHATS'". Just because you're still unwilling to move past the losses to Vandy and SC. It was NSD. The class was a success according to Bob Welton also. We were on CBS 4 weeks in a row. Fact! There was a time that the UT/UF game didn't get aired because we performed so bad. We had 4-5 games on Pay Per View a year. Games on SEC network and not prime time. Getting drug my Bama, Arky like 45-3. Praying that we didn't lose 8 games so we could still say we are the only other team besides OSU that has never lost 8 in a season. CBJ has got us over the hump and he's trying to build some positive traction, but you guys burn him at the stake because you don't like what comes out of his mouth. He's been a HC for 9 years. He's still learning. Which of you nega's were experts and knew it all at 9 years into your careers?

Well good for you. Its sad when you fail to recoginize that UT has 10-2, 11-1 talent but your okay with beatdowns from USC / Vandy with losing records. At least you are honest about where you stand.
It's sad that you criticize other fans who are mature enough to recognize the reality that Team 120 had an unusually high number of injuries to key contributors. And that, without those injuries, we almost certainly would have won the 10 or 11 games most of us predicted.
Coaches and players never want to use injuries as an excuse and ours didn't. Even when the injuries were happening at an almost comical pace, they repeated the "next man up" mantra and kept fighting. That's what we expect from them.
But as fans, we are free to either stamp our feet and pout about it or accept reality. A lot of those who are complaining now are the same ones who couched their expectations prior to the season by saying, "Barring injuries..." or "If we can stay healthy..." Now they want to pretend the injuries never happened and cry because they're disappointed in the outcome. Well, guess what? We were all disappointed. But no amount of whining is going to change it. It's time for us to move on and support our team.
I console myself with the knowledge that not everyone here is necessarily an adult. I can only hope that explains most of it.
