So if he were a son of a coach that won a NC and spoke about the Germans in press conferences you would like him better?
I guess people would be saying "he did it with Dooley's players though".![]()
Gruden makes $4.3 million/year and is in Year1 of a five year deal. Gonna have to throw serious cash at him to lure him away from ESPN.
If this is fact, then we'll never see Gruden at Tennessee period. He'd have to be going to a team in a conference he can rule right away to think about leaving his contract money. This of course would mean he really wants to coach college ball. I can maybe see him coaching again in the NFL, but highly doubt he'd go to the college game making less or at best a little more than his ESPN deal.
He wanted 3.4 million to coach the U in 2012. It was a done deal , but they would not back his demands for a bigger recruiting budget. He also wanted access to a plane to help those efforts. They said no. He decided against it. I also think he got word of what was going on at Miami. I am on mobile , but you can google this if you don't believe me.
Now what team in college football has the biggest recruiting budget? Hmmm
