This Dave Hart drama could not come at a worse time for the Grudenite faithful.

I had been told of this dissatisfaction many alumni of influence had for Hart early last week.

If the leadership in the AD is in question, it's going to be tough to land a big time replacement coach.

What's the best way for him to make folks be more 'forgiving'?

Problem is....if his future here is in limbo, he'll be hamstrung to make any change.....nobody will sign off.

I'm hearing tempers are very high right now.

I'm more worried about the uncertainty scaring off potential coaches than the important people not signing off on a quality hire.

....which is what I initially said. I was addressing some other issues with my most recent post.

It won't matter. Some said they'd never help again after CPF was fired. Then when UT tried to throw money at Smith to replace kitten all those guys were there to help.
They will ***** and moan but if really needed they'll be there.

Started to ask, what did I miss? Sounds like a pretty deep conversation...Don't think I like how this Hart deal is sounding..Got a bad feeling, sorry Grudenites.

Please don't interpret this as me giving up b/c I am NOT a quitter.

No matter what the timing is bad.

I had an inkling about this last week, but didnt think it would manifest itself until after the coaching replacement.

There are serious names are interested in the AD job though.

Seems like the timing for any adveristy is always at the WORST time.:cray:

This was going to happen, inevitably IMO. I don't really have an opinion in Hart one way or the other....I just know what I've heard, and that is he's made some enemies.

It's thought by some that this could eventually bring down Cheek.

I just wanted this coaching thing settled before the heavy lifting started. I don't want to miss our window.

Who knows....maybe it all blows over. We'll see.

I could see the decision makers refusing to give Hart the okay to fire Dooley unless his position is secure. This could be a disaster if not dealt with properly.

I agree on Hart b/c I Know nothing about him except he came from Bama.

My concern is missing our window of opportunity to hire Gruden..Feel like he is ours for the taking, if that makes sense.

Hopefully it will blow over and disagreements amongst Hart and company will be settled....If nothing else Hart should be given a chance to make that "homerun" hire to redeem himself..IMO, he could help himself a lot there.:twocents:

Hart certainly knows what it looks like to have a winning program. He's been at two. Whether or not that translates into him klnowing what a great hire is remains to be seen. I kinda feel like a kid watching his parents fighting....LOL

The problem I see is the embarassment this lawsuit is going to bring to the University. That's not good for anyone....and due to its nature the embarassment is seemingly unavoidable, no matter who's right. It's going to be very public.

Hopefully he'll be allowed the latitude to conduct a search/ negotiations. My concern is what coach will listen if his future is in jeopardy.

Hubby and I were discussing the Hart thing and he said that if this gets any worse that Hart's days are numbered..He doesn't know about the whole Gruden deal b/c I have chose not to share that with him until it happens, if it happens.:crossfingers:

No proven coach will want to come here if Hart's job is in jeopardy.:ermm:

With a career mark barely above .500, can someone explain why Gruden is the Knight in Shining Armor? I'm not saying he isn't, I'm just curious what the Grudenites sayeth.

And please forgive me for not reading the previous 5700+ posts since I'm guessing this question has already been asked.
