Heartbroken....he is a legend, and I’ve always considered him my Tennessee coach. I grew up a fan under Johnny, and he was the coach while I was in College.

It’s not unexpected, but I’m gutted.

Coach Johnny Majors played at Moore Co. high school. His dad Shirley, coached at Huntland, at which the field is name for him. Can you imagine playing against your Dads' coached team. Coach Johnny came by one day, while we were practicing, I coached Pee Wee football at Huntland for 23 yrs, and he gave a speech to our football teams. He ended it by telling the teams to always, "Hit em high, Hit em low, and Hit em continuously"! I'll always remember that day. R.I.P. coach.

I'll always remember watching Johnny coaching the Volunteers on Saturday and watching the Johnny Majors show on Sunday. I'm crying more than I have in a long, long time.

This one hurts. I was always a big fan of Mr. John Majors.

Same. I feel like I lost a family member. My dad played for his father Shirley Majors at Sewanee and I knew the family as a child. Used to bird hunt with Coach Shirley Majors and Larry when I was little. I still have a softball and glove that Shirley gave me. But as a child of the 80s growing up in Tennessee, Johnny Majors was and is Tennessee football.

This one hurts.
