As clear as I was, you still missed it.
For a third time, I said that the Rams RB depth chart is so weak, he sucks if he can't crack it. That is a totally separate issue from $7K/week and whether he stays in school.
My point on the practice squad is that players don't come out early so they can make a practice squad and earn $7K/week for 2 or 3 yrs. If their goals are that low then they really ought to stay in school for 4 yrs and get that degree. That PS job will still be available to him in 2019.
As Butchna said, he didn't declare early simply to be on the practice squad, he got drafted. In the 6th round, in case you've already forgotten. I said he would still end up on a practice squad as a worst case scenario.
His degree will also still be there for him whenever he chooses, you can't say the same about a career in the NFL. But, you know, he might not have as much fun when he goes back to college so who knows if it would really be worth it at all...
