I wish him the best but running backs have been slowly moving down the draft board for the last few years and 2018 looks to have an especially deep draft class that could include:
1) Saquon Barkley - Penn State (Height 5'11" Weight 223 lbs - Projected top 10 pick)
2) Bryce Love - Stanford (Height 5'10" Weight 196 lbs - Projected late first round)
3) Kerryon Johnson - Auburn (Height 6'0" Weight 212 lbs - Projected early 2nd round)
4) Nick Chubb - Georgia (Height 5'10" Weight 220 lbs - Projected early 2nd round)
5) Derrius Guice - LSU (Height 5'11" Weight 212 lbs - Projected mid to late 2nd round)
6) Damien Harris - Alabama (Height 5-11" Weight 214 lbs - Projected late 2nd round)
7) Sony Michel - Georgia (Height 5'11" Weight 212 lbs - Projected late 3rd round)
8) Akrum Wadley - Iowa (Height 5'11" Weight 191 lbs - Projected early 4th round)
9) L.J. Scott - Michigan St - (Height 6'1" Weight 230 lbs - Projected mid 4th round)
10) Ronald Jones II - USC - (Height 6'0" Weight 200 lbs - Projected 5th round)
I would be very surprised if John Kelly was drafted ahead of any of these RB's. He really could have used another year.

He showed what he can do with a full workload in an SEC game against UK. I think he can handle it. Especially after an off season of training and conditioning. Imo he is heading towards a 1000 Yd season.
I think he should have gotten a lot more touches this year.
I don't understand why we just think its fine that our Juniors seem to go pro, but Kirby keeping Michele and Chubb and getting them to stay for their senior year, when they were projected much higher than JK, shows what it takes to win. UGA wouldn't be in the CFP if those two declared last year.
It's more about getting to that 2nd and 3rd contract, IMO. The difference in pay from 6th to 4th round isn't worth waiting for when your career is most liikely over by age 27.
