Damn I'm getting slower. I mentioned a rumor about Currie this morning and it was 20 minutes, only beat this one by one minute.

this rumor stuff is too fast paced for me LOL

hahah OR you need to just make a post for your "Rumor Predictions"

Don't know the answer to your question but IMHO, Jimmy Haslam needs to focus on the upcoming NFL combine and making sure that his Harvard wunderkinds don't screw the pooch in this year's draft.

Yea, I was just curious. My understanding is they both were on the "committee" and were supposedly more influential than the others. Just wondering what made them go in this direction. No biggie, just thought Id ask if anyone had heard anything.

Well...maybe Mr. Currie can hire Blackburn and Fulmer to be his special assistants.

Maybe Blackburn can find another job somewhere like Vandy.

I would have to outsource.
I'm always on my phone and can't even provide links to the rumors. I would be a sad organizer.
But the very least, maybe I can provide 15 seconds of sink-in time LOL

Currie is a GREAT hire. Proven P5 AD experience. Tennessee roots.

So, please commence the *****ing and moaning.

I've heard he's a micromanager and told the great Bill Snyder he was going to have the final say in assistant hiring.

You think him and Butch will get along?

Sometimes I have a good thought, I post it then read it. Then I think to myself, damn, I hope I can edit or delete that before someone quotes it. Lol, I hope that didn't just happen to you.:)

According to Brice on 104.5 right now, there are several big-time "name on buildings" boosters who have promised to pull their financial support from the AD and have been in the "anybody but John Curry" camp from day one.

And he clarified that the boosters are "6 figures or more" level boosters.

If he learned anything under Hamilton, we are in trouble.

He was actually hired by Doug Dickey. He took a Kansas State Athe;letic Department that was deep in debt and has made it one of a handful of program in the US that has achieved a profit without a single penny of taxpayer dollars. Doing all of this while the KState program has achieved high academic marks in all sports and has completed $210 million in facilities improvements without using a penny of tax dollars.

Maybe Peyton and Jimmy were on this committee as "window dressing". UT had a professional firm involved as well. Sometimes, more is not better. Wishing Mr. Currie the best, and glad that this long and painful process has been concluded.

Don't care about facilities, all that other BS, I just want to win. Winning means coaches, and that's what I'm concerned about... this guy's ability to hire the best coaches possible. I want someone in there who wants to win, not just make the books look good.

Doesn't even matter what side you're on, sometimes it just feels like we are the most dysfunctional organization in the business.

That's the reason I posted this. Some were anybody but Curry, evidently some were anybody but Blackburn, perhaps the same for Phil. At what point is it about what's best for the AD and football program? Dysfunctional for sure imo.
