He graduated from the University of Tennessee. He worked in UT athletics for years.
How can people be liking this post?
This was the next best thing after Blackburn.
He works well with money, he has deep UT ties, and he's been an AD at a power 5 school for eight years. I think this was a pretty solid hire. We will see how it works.
He worked here for 15 years and has a degree here.
So he's not Blackburn but he's more UT than anyone else on the board.
Alright, I have a feeling we're going to be announcing beard soon also, how do you guys feel about that?
lol

Yeah...I've been really unreasonable on this.
Only Tennessee eats their own like this. So sorry Mr. Blackburn....You were to obvious of a choice apparently.
We'll never be any different.
Welcome Mr. Currie, good luck....You'll need it.
Yep...The manure-spreader is turned all the way to 10.
That is exactly what we deserve.
If he is like Hamilton and appreciates a good MAC coach he'll sign Butch to a lifetime contract tomorrow.
I can't wait! This is going to be absolutely underwhelming.
Haven't seen it posted anywhere, but has anyone heard what Peyton and/or Haslam think about this? I'm sure neither would say anything negative, but would be curious what they do say.
Interesting that you omit that Currie was here before Hamilton got here and that Blackburn is a Hamilton guy too. Bottom line...both were employed by UT prior to Hamilton. Both were employed by UT after the Hamilton hire. If you label one, you label both. If you drop the label and go based off of resume. Currie wins.
