Why does everyone think he can't recruit? His average class ranking the last few years is 27th. That's incredible for Mississippi St. I think he'll be top 10 in recruiting each year at Tennessee.

He he has done a helluva lot more with the #27th ranked classes than Lyle has done with the #13th ranked classes. The can actually coach and develop players....I’d much rather have a guy like that, who does much more with less than the clown we’ve had for 5 years now who can’t do squat with the talent he’s worked so hard to get.

I read that Jones is fighting hard to keep his job. He's told them that he will make changes to the offense and is using the large amount of injuries as to the results of this season. Some of the people up there believe him and want him to stay. I say holy cow if this is true. #1. It's his offense and #2. the injuries are obviously a lack of player development. Jones's record alone against Alabama, Florida, and Georgia is atrocious. His record against the Top 10 is abysmal. If Jones is retained for 2018 it proves to me that UT is no longer concerned about winning. This will result in my season tickets being cancelled and the UT administration will not get anymore of my money.

Sorry, but that doesn't sound like a guy who has committed to firing the head coach, and is already laying the groundwork for the incoming replacement.

He may end up firing Jones at the end of the season, I hope he does, but we'll already be behind other schools in the coaching search at that point.

As of "right now" he is absolutely correct.

Unless you expect him to say I no longer support the coach and I hope he loses, I'm not sure what you expect him to say.

If he fired Jones 2 weeks ago what do they do that they couldn't with him still here?

Because saying that he hates Butch Jones and hopes he loses is the only way to convey that he's already taking steps to move the program onward to a coaching change?

Why does he need to promote any idea to anyone outside the decision making process?

Are you expecting him to run a state wide poll? If not why do you or I need to hear for him publically?

He 'll be judged by what does. Not what he did or didn't tell you during the process of that.

Not at all. I don't expect him to show his hand and I wouldn't either in the same position. Having said that as long as Jones is on the sideline he will be publically supported by the AD regardless.

If he fires Jones after Vandy your no smarter or better off for it.

Mullen is not leaving miss state for Tenn.... What could Tenn offer?? Money would be about the same and Mullen has security at Miss State so why leave and come to Tenn just to get fired 3 to 4 years later when the fans stop supporting him?

Lol no joke. Kansas might pay 5 million to Saban, if the entire world went insane or saban suddenly disclosed that God told him in a dream to coach at Kansas for 5 million a year. Some people just have a hard time understanding perspective and different realities beyond their own environment.

Kansas has no real desire or ability to pay big to compete in football. There is an $85,000,000 difference in their football profit and ours. They arent built to achieve or sustain football success, and it dont happen overnight. They know this....so no, no "big time" boosters are gonna pony up 5 million to take Butch or Saban off anyone's hands. Thats throwing money away, no matter who you are.

No one will ever pay Lyle Jones power 5 money ever again. Wtf is wrong with anyone thinking otherwise.

Fulmer never got another job. Miles may not, unless he settles for smaller school and pay. Those guys arent embarrasments, just old hat types who were uninspiring to all after their long runs at one school. They had shot their wad. This IS the type of guy Kansas likes, however. What kansas or Nobody wants is an embarrassing loser like Dooley or Lyle. A schmuck who tripped over himself at his first big time job, and left in shame to a chorus of laughter.
