Joe Henderson Gone? (RUMOR)

I teach college age kids and its amazing how little knowledge many of them have acquired in twelve years of school. College isn't for everyone, I really wish the NFL had a semipro league, like MLB has for its prospects. Let them draft players out of high school, and the rest can still go the college route if they stay for three years.

That would ruin college football as many of the best players would just opt to make money right out of high school instead of going to college.

UT is a middling state university that will never be compared to, say, Stanford. It is pretty easy to get into--and for athletes it is even easier than for regular students, yes?

UT is not thateasy to get into any more. Granted, it is not Stanford or Harvard. It is, however, much more selective than it was twenty years ago. I do agree with the notion that athletes should not have problems getting in.
If you are a DI talent, I have no sympathy for you not qualifying to get in to UT. You would have to suffer from double-Guatamalan-dyslexia (which is the worst kind, as I believe causes rectal bleeding), to not qualify. You basically have to give a modicum of effort. Hell, if you can't get into UT as an athlete, I hear that the people at Chapel Hill have an excellent support staff. Give UNC a call.

I agree that there should be a 'semipro' league....however, how can you be amazed about how little knowledge they have acquired? Parents blame teachers, teachers blame parents and the unions and the Feds control what the youngins are taught:rock:

VolQuest says Joe Henderson "working to rejoin team" wouldn't this imply something other than cheating on the ACT? Because if he cheated (to get admitted) then his scholarship would be pulled, correct?

Henderson working to rejoin the Vols

John Brice and Brent Hubbs
VolQuest.com

Tennessee freshman defensive lineman Joe Henderson is not with the Volunteers' football team right now after being removed from active practice participation last week. Find out why the Ohio native is currently practicing with the team inside Volquest.com.

Don't get the last sentence??? This is copy and paste from Volquest. Not a member.

:thud:

Tennesseeduke

Classic VQ. Should read "Find out why the Ohio native is NOT practicing..." It even says he was removed from "active practice participation" so it's pretty easy to put one and two together.

So I guess we are going to be left out of the loop on what's going on? If it's really personal, I'm not sure I want to invade his privacy. However, I despise not knowing details lol

Butch said he was pulled from practice by NCAA due to academic issues, and that's all he was allowed to say.

SIAP @wesrucker247: Butch: I can’t say much about Fr DE Joe Henderson being pulled off field by NCAA academic issue, but the timing of this is an “oddity."

@Vol_Football: JONES: Joe Henderson is going through some academic requirements with the NCAA, that’s all I’m allowed to say.

I'm sure a semi-pro team would pack the stands with tens and tens of paying fans.:lolabove:

That's exactly what all these kids that want to get paid to play football beyond a scholarship deserve. After all, it's them that brings all tthese fans in. It has nothing to do with the university. It's amazing I continued to watch tennessee football after arian foster left.
