IF the Universities could get ENFORCEABLE releases of liability and assumptions of risk from the players who want to play...then it would be an easier decision to play. However, that one issue actually involves many more complicated sub-issues and isn’t as easy as it might sound.
The difference??There was a time in football when about 1 player per team died each season. It was generally accepted that they had assumed the risk.
Now we live in a society that’s afraid to allow players to play because they may file suit if they catch a virus? Players who have been given the option to attend school for free and not lose eligibility?
Lawyers and politicians. The two worst classes of people on the planet.
