JG is not the problem

JG didn't play well honestly BUT he was never given the chance to shine imo. When passing plays that went downfield were called, he nailed most of them. But too many short BS all game long. Its like they didn't want to show off too much, which I would get if you were winning easily but we were LOSING. CHANGE THE GAME PLAN MORONS.

JG is part of the problem, but he's way down the list.

DE
DT
LB
CB
S
OL
Strength and Conditioning program

These areas are more problematic.

JG was appointed QB last year, the grad transfer played a little but wasn't given much chance to play, just keep telling me how tough he is
to keep getting up being sacked 6-8 times game I hoped for better this season the 2nd play from scrimmage showed he hasn't improved ...………………………..

JG IS THE PROBLEM.

His stats are deceiving. Dude has no energy, is mopey, and can’t read the broad side of a barn of blitzing defenses. Took one straight to the back bc he has no vision. Threw a HORRIBLE interception, and fumbled twice. 3 turnovers a direct result of JG

You're an expert on UT football the way we're experts on UGA football.
A good portion of that was on the last drive with GSU in prevent and the game out of reach. You failed to mention the 7 yard fast ball he threw on the 2nd play from scrimmage that led to GSU's short field TD. You didn't mention him not noticing a back side corner blitz that came all the way from the sideline while he stood like a statue leading to another turnover. You didn't mention his consistent issues with reading D's and finding the right receivers.

JG was unable to sustain drives long before Chaney showed up.

Again, you haven't watched UT football like we have.

I came into the season hoping that JG's issues had been solved. Many spent all off season proclaiming the OL to be his problem. They weren't. Other than a very few times he was protected and had plenty of time. The game simply hasn't slowed down for him. When the lights come on, some guys bloom... he wilts.

This times a million! But, you are wasting your time. Most on this board blame all besides JG. I just can't believe Pruitt doesn't see the issues. At this point, play JT and Maurer and let the team famish or flourish. At least, they would have experience next year and lead to better things down the road. JG is never going to get it done no matter how good the play is around him. It isn't rocket science. It has been shown time and time again!!!

No one is going to be the solution at QB with 93 rushing yards and a defense that gives up 38 points

Joe Burrow threw 5 TDs against Georgia Southern yesterday. If I recall correctly there was a large contingent of this board crowing on about how PFF ranked JG higher than him coming into the season.

Why is it that we shouldn't expect a similar performance from JG? The defense was trash, but we should have been able to score at will on Georgia State with the depth and experience on offense.

The offense could not sustain drives or score enough Touchdowns when in position and JG was a big factor in that and that is the bottom line. The Qb position should be as open as any position after that game. A SEC Qb has to be able to see and react far better than what JG has done to this point and I venture to guess he best get better quickly along with his teammates. It's not all his fault but he is the Qb and he has to do better, that's just the way it is. GBO!

This is exactly how I see it. I think JG is a huge problem. If he was doing his part that game is over quickly. Get the ball in the playmakers hands and the run game would open up, but he couldn't do this unless the guy was wide open.

Watching Trevor Lawrence you can see the difference. He throws a ball that arrives in a position to catch and make a play. JG throws a ball that may get there, but many times it is all the receiver can do is catch the ball and they are off balance to advance the ball. That is completely on JG.

Put another QB in against BYU...do we get beat down or would it be a better showing? JG I think is costing this team wins. He needs benched and let someone else try it out. What’s the loss? All we can hope for is better results in the games going forward but it won’t happen with JG. He’s too slow or holds the ball too long. If I see him under center this Saturday I’m cutting the game off. I can’t watch him play anymore...

I dont put a lot of stock in play during the opening game. Meaning, Im not saying Trevor Lawrence sucks after a mediocre performance Thursday. My issue, my disappointment in him was his demeaner, his attitude after hearing of him stepping up in leadership during camp. I like that he doesnt get rocked or affected by the game but come on, get your team fired up and make the plays to win the game and save yourself from unbelievable embarrassment.

JG is not the only problem but he is WICKED overrated. If there’s even a chance a back up could be close to as good as him they should be given a chance. He has so many flaws to his game and has had plenty of time to show improvement.

I can’t think of a worse QB with as many starts at UT in the 30 years I’ve followed them closely. If anyone can please tell me...

I'm more concerned about the offense looking surprisingly familiar to last year's offense. It reeks of JP being involved in Chaney's business. Only the young guys played with any fire and they have no effin' clue what they're doing. Just have to wait for them to mature and hope it's not too late by then.

Impossible! We've finally stabilized the S&C program and are paying Coach Fitz Thirty-Nine-Levin Million per year to have our team ready to whoop ass!

Pruitt has no problem trying other players at different positions, why not QB.

Give the other two a chance and see how they react in a game time situation.

We know what we have in JG. I for one don’t like it.

Probably because JG doesn't have the talent Burrow has around him. Nowhere near the rb, wrs, OLINE,etc.. You are/ would be f'ing crazy to even suggest otherwise!

JG team can’t tell him where the first down marker is,he should known that and fought for every yard.Dobbs woulda backflipped for the first If he had to.2nd u get a db blitz where dude has no one blocking him JG looks rite at him snaps the ball and proceeds to get cooked and fumbled.Okay next drivE SAME dB blitz JG sees it no audible no attempt to move anyone to cover the dB etc.Bam another sack.I mean the whole team had issues but those are things rookies can handle so why he hasn’t mastered the basics yet baffles me.
