JG is not an SEC QB

If he transferred and was able to play immediately he’d probably be playing in a New Year’s Day bowl. That’s the state of the Tennessee program. It’s less the players and more the guys pulling the strings.
Couldn’t disagree more. We have a legitimate SEC coaching staff. They didn’t forget how to coach football overnight. This is a player issue. I don’t know if they aren’t particularly bright, or just don’t give a damn, but the lcoaches have been successful everywhere else in the SEC.

Matthews said on his radio show this AM. JG was robotic not sure what that means but he used it in a negative way. I always figured a robot would know where the 1st down line was but I digress.
I get exactly what he means. JG wasnt bad, but he looked like a kid that just learned a dance routine.

The huge problem is that whoever we play at QB is going to struggle because we can't run the ball.

Sure he is.

He just may be the worse one in the history of the SEC... or our coaches are. Hard to say.

Not his fault. Dude’s had to learn a hundred different systems in his tenure here.
I disagree. It's his fault that he can't escape pressure or sense it coming. That's natural ability and has nothing to do with coaching. He gains some praise for being tough and standing in the pocket but, imo, that's not smart either. Had we better coaches we'd recruited dual type QB's who can make plays on their own. All my life I've felt the QB is the offensive leader period and that goes for every team. The QB touches the ball almost every play and is supposed to be able to read the defenses. As it stands now we're gonna suffer regardless and there's only one way to find out......let other QB's play. Hill already has Div.1 experience. We need an offensive leader other than a receiver.

It means he is not loose...never has played the game loose...doesn't come naturally to him....scared to make a mistake....no confidence in his skills...can't play within the scheme of the offense....has no fun playing...football isn't a game to him anymore....
For some reason JG has never had touch on the ball and very seldom can he lead his receivers...
Here we are again saying the same things we said last year...
Its like JG is trying out for the team every year and barely good enough to be a starter in the coaches eyes...
I hate if for the kid...I really do...but I also really hate it for the fans...
DABO MADE A DECISION LAST YEAR TO GO WITH THE FRESHMAN REGARDLESS...IT WAS A VERY TOUGH DECISION...A COACH IS PAID TO MAKE THE CALL

When your o-line is sh!t you have to have a dual threat QB to survive. We are now witnessing what happens when terrible o-line, terrible o-line coaching + recruited as a dual threat qb but not really a dual threat more stoic lead legs pro style QB come together. A sh@tshow.

He used affect properly I believe as a verb....you used effect in your sentence properly as a noun. Affect is the action to change and effect is the result after change. Impact is a more simple word to use anyways.
You are incorrect. "Affect" as a verb means to influence something; "effect" as a verb means to cause something to happen, such as change:

Definition of EFFECT

I found where you got your incorrect information, grammarly.com. It's scary to me that there's a website now that presents itself as an authority on the English language and has that basic of an error.

a huge part is lack of playing time except the JG part. I personally don't think it's wise to be shifting players around all the time until they've been here awhile. I think it's causing confusion. A lot of these guys simply aren't ready for this league and development can't be rushed with the linemen. We are expecting too much but we should be able to beat the lower-tier schools handily.

I want to say something here:
Chandler is a great running back
Gray is going to be a great running back
Offensive line is going to player better
We do have some very good defensive players...very good
Don't expect freshman to be all pro's in their first game
Receivers are our strength only the coaches make it as such
I'm going to say things on both side of the ball get better

I believe the players want to play and coaches want to coach but for some reason the coaches game plan is not translating on the field of play.
Lots of decisions has to be made this week as far as game plan and players who carry out those plans.....
If you don't see considerable change between the 1st and 3rd game then it spells trouble

throws for 300, 2tds.....should've been at least 3 but wr let it go right thru his hands....1 pick early.....and he sucks? He's the reason the team lost and gave up 38?

A blind man can read between the lines herre and see the complaints are not the real issue!

They are not going to win big with JG at the quarterback. Nobody can consistently hold off the defense long enough for JG to stare down a receiver. The vanilla looking game plan will not work either. You can't game plan like UT is going to walk over anybody which seemed to be the case yesterday. They have to approach EVERY game as an under dog team because that is what they have. If they are going to stay with JG then it will be almost impossible to make a bowl game.

Yet this article says Pruitt wants the best players on the field.

Jeremy Pruitt provided an example of why he's a good head coach on Friday
I think that’s true other than the qb position. I think it’s clear he sees the extra turnovers and prioritizes that over talent at that position and isn’t doing the math to see the positive in it. Let’s say BM throws 3 ints in his first game. A decent defense will only allow 10 points off of those turnovers. A good one...7, a great one 3. But add in the 4 total tds and that 10 points suddenly doesn’t look so bad, especially knowing he’s only going to get better in the coming years.

Chaney needs to take every single screen and drop off out of the playbook and force him to throw it downfield
Or some roll out PA passes..unless JG is incapable of that..never remember seeing one yesterday...just that very lame and fools no one JG feigns running by taking a deep lunge fake.

JG didn’t have it and has never had it. Slow mover and thinker. More passionate in interviews than on field. No leadership.

It’s not his fault anymore it’s the coaches fault for leaving him in there. Would much rather see disaster happen with a freshman learning out there instead of w JG our there for the 3rd year in a row.
Why does he get such a long leash with everyone? It’s laughable and makes me think less of people that continue to place blame everywhere else

Agreed. I think Pruitt thought this could be treated like a preseason game and rotate a bunch of players. Turns out that was a really bad decision.

Problem with this team and roll out passes is that it cuts the field in half or less and I don't think JG is very efficient in roll outs either

Convert Jauan Jennings back to QB. Let's have some fun.

(He could definitely do rollouts and run if he has too)

He is part of the reason that the team didnt score more than 38....a big part of the reason.

Thats what I was thinking..JG and doing anything requiring mobility is pretty much a no go.

I think a lot of pro JG homers are like that because of sociological reasons.

Didnt like the lazy play calling especially 3 consecutive QB sneaks on 3rd and 1 with the same formation each time.

Too many mistakes all the way around. Hopefully we clean it up in the 2nd half.
I was fine with the play calling, it was the execution. A kid listed at 6'4 and supposedly put on 20 lbs over the summer should always be good for a yard or less, even falling forward. If it were 3 and 1 and a handoff was called and lose yardage that is excusable to a point; but as the QB and on a sneak, you and the center should always be the first off the ball and know where you are going to get that yard.

Any coach that continues to trot Guareentrona out there with seemingly no competition is not an SEC head coach.
