JG 2020

After these comments, if I’m JG I transfer simply because of the ****** fans who complain after being lead to 6 straight wins. Bunch of spoiled brats around here.
Dude these guys can be tough, but one of best TN QBs in history? What stats demonstrate that or even come close to it? I guess it depends on how many you include him with, but Ainge averaged 3200 his last two seasons. Peyton averaged 3500 yards almost his last three seasons (without a RS) and JG has averaged 2000. JG would have to add another 1800 yards to match Peyton’s best season. Improvement? JG threw for another 200 yards with another game in his pocket this year and three senior receivers. Without Jennings after the catch plays this year, those numbers would have been worse than last years’. Clausen also jumped from around 1900 to 3700 in one season. Crompton went from 900ish to 2800. All four of those guys were better than JG by the numbers.

I hope I’m wrong but I think Heisman talk is a little outlandish. I do hope he gets the nod only because he comes back so good Bailey has to sit. Not because no one is good enough.

Exactly! Wth is wrong with people...

3 years already and people still think he's going to magically turn into a good QB.
JG is infuriating precisely because he’s inconsistent. At this point, he is who he is - a head case. Yes, he will have some decent games. And yes, he will also lose to GA State. He isn’t going to suddenly turn into Trevor Lawrence.

I'm actually hoping he decides to transfer at this point for his sake, he'd be more appreciated.. We don't make a bowl game without him this year and we'd be lucky to win 6 games in 2020 with BM at QB. Buuut of course I'm sure HB is the second coming of Tom Brady . Most of our fans have been delusional since the early 00s tbh

Don't really understand why people are desperate for JG to transfer. Worst case scenario is that he's a reasonably solid backup. (And for whatever reason, he plays much better when he's a backup!)

He's not ever going to be Peyton Manning, but he was the best QB on the roster in 2019. I'm hoping that Maurer or Bailey passes him up in 2020, but if they don't, I'd still rather have JG and a 7-8 win season, than someone else and a 5-6 win season. It is what it is.

I only wish everything you say could come true. I like JG, He's a sweet guy, but I just don't see any of that happening.

I think people are taking JG and his experience for granted. I believe he’ll be TN’s QB and leader for the 2020 campaign, and will cement his legacy as one of UT’s greatest QB’s (based on stats and growth as a player).

JG struggled adapted to a new offense, which he was forced to do throughout his career thus far. But after a year in the system, and the experience he’s gained, I feel like JG will be among the leading QB’s in the SEC next season, and will even be mentioned in the heisman discussions a few times.
Hey K-townking...Hows it going buddy...Gotten to the point you got 2 separate accounts now huh?......Yeah lay off the drugs kiddo....Those things make you ignorant.

I agree..when that discussion gets to who has zero chance.

I don't know why JG would transfer. He's probably focused on his career after football at this point. He's not going to go somewhere else for a better chance to start and make it to NFL.

I'm sure that's the narrative Pruitt is using on JG, and will more than likely get the start for first part of the season, because he typically doesn't turn the ball over, all the while knowing he'll be ripe for a quick exit when he starts airmailing open receivers. In reality, it's just as much about the other FIVE QB's on the team...one of them has to CONSISTENTLY step up and take the job. To this point, that hasn't happened. Maurer could have taken the clubhouse lead going into Spring with a strong relief effort during Gator Bowl, but nearly threw 3 INT's on one drive...hence, back to JG.

I think Pruitt knows this too.

I think another year in the system will be good for him. It is hard to assume the young guns will overtake him.
However, no matter what hope I ever had in him being good next year finally went down the drain in his awful performance against Indiana.
