Jersey Wolfenbarger to TN!!!

I counted Wynn. I'm missing somebody else. This is what I have (pay no attention to the depth chart order, they're not a prediction of order or anything). Who am I missing?

PG- Kaniya Boyd (RSSo.), Mia Pauldo (Fr.), Mya Pauldo (Fr.)

SG- Ruby Whitehorn (Sr.), Jaida Civil (Fr.), Avery Strickland (So.)

W- Talaysia Cooper (RSJr.), Deniya Prawl (Fr.), Kaiya Wynn (RSSr.)

F- Alyssa Latham (Jr.), Lauren Hurst (Fr.)

F- Lazaria Spearman (Sr.), Jersey Wolfenbarger (Sr.)

Boo for talking trash about Tamari who had a very nice career but one derailed by health issues. She was a shot blocking machine!

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
  • Averaged 7.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and a school career-record 2.6 blocked shots in 131 contests with 107 starts.
  • Finished with 1,040 career points to rank 48th on the program's career scoring list.
  • Her total of 347 blocks stands as a Lady Vol career record and the No. 6 mark in SEC women's basketball history.
  • Her two career triple-doubles rate as a Lady Vol best, as do her performances in 2020-21 and 2021-22 that tie her with three other players for the UT single-season mark.
  • Her 59.0 field goal percentage ranks No. 5 on UT's women's hoops career list.
  • She led Tennessee in season field goal percentage and blocks in four different campaigns (2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2023-24).
  • She owns five of the top six single-game Lady Vol blocks performances, including the No. 2 effort of 11 vs. Texas A&M on Jan. 6, 2022.

Key had two triple double with blocks rebounds and points and has the season record for most blocks.

She was a classic "paint" defender but she was rendered vulnerable by posts who could step out and shoot threes.
this!

I'm happy with transfer....Key couldn't guard 99 yr old grandmother.....

Don't say dumb things...

Lisa Leslie Award Top-Five Finalist -- 2021-22
Naismith Women's Defensive Player of the Year Semifinalist -- 2021-22
Coaches All-SEC Second Team -- 2021-22
USA TODAY Sports All-SEC Second Team -- 2021-22
SEC All-Defensive Team (2x)
All time LV block shot record

Don't why I feel this way, but I think she is going to have an enourmous season for Tennessee. I think it will be by far the best season of her college career.

After playing for that close-talking crone, she is likely to find playing for Caldwell a lot more pleasant. Yes, Kim Caldwell is notoriously tough, but she's not prone to dramatic histrionics. Caldwell will also be getting a player who, I think, will greatly appreciate the Lady Vol culture as someone coming in more mature and with experience in two other programs to compare it to. The vast majority of players who've transferred into Tennessee are nothing but delighted to be there and end up being extremely loyal and proud to be a part of it.

Jersey knows this is her final chance to impress pro scouts, so I agree ... this will be her best year!

Let's just say she decided to trade up to a better Kim.

Kim Mulkey is a very, very good coach, but if I had a daughter, I would not want her to play for Mulkey. I would seriously accept Geno before Kim Mulkey. She's just... 🤮

I agree. Geno, for all his faults, appears to be loyal to his players. KM is transactional. What have you done for her lately.

Agreed. I can't imagine VOLUNTARILY choosing to spend one day with Kim Mulkey. She is a next level narcissist, rude, and backward in many ways. And, she actually thinks she's funny. So guess she's delusional too. At the end of the day, LSU is spending a lot of money to get players. I don't blame any player for trying to make money either. Whatevs.

Auriemma has a history of being pretty nasty and displaying a vindictive attitude toward some of his recruits who decided that other schools were a better fit for them.

On the plus side, he did seem to eventually support Delle Donne when she went to Delaware. But there were other players whom he disparaged as they left, implying that they just weren't good enough for his program. He could have just kept his mouth shut and enjoyed all the Top Five players still on his roster

You got that right! She has that “IT”, that successful coaches must have. She doesn’t use “coach speak” and isn’t that a breath of fresh air. Even in her post game evaluations, you get an insightful analysis start to finish. She coaches her players with intensity and high expectations but truly loves them as well. She may be young but she knows basketball……..period.

I’m sure most knows by now, but Kim has been around basketball her entire life. From a young age. Her father was a well respected hs girls basketball coach. He coached two or three state championship teams. Kim and her older sister played for him.
Kim’s older sister played at Cincinnati. Kim knew she would not play d1 so attended Glenville state. Later becoming their head coach. Her dad became her assistant coach. She had some incredible success there. I don’t remember the specific numbers. But the win vs losses just ridiculous. And won a couple of d2 national championships. So you are correct, she has coaching in her blood.

Makes one ponder how long she had been on Danny White’s radar. Would love to hear the rest of that story…

Some highlights from Jersey's freshman year at Arkansas. Of course she cooked us, lol. Her 3pt shoot was money, forcing TK to defend outside the paint. If she's the best version of herself this season, we're gonna be really really good. So excited!
