Really love his honesty! Did not sugarcoat any one answer. Told it exactly how it was and I believed every single bit of it. We definitely ran into a buzz saw today. Doubt we face a better offense all year. The keys for this team going forward is our offense MUST be effective every time they have the ball. Our D is thin and we cannot fall behind.

I keep hearing folks say I doubt we play a better offense this year. Did you guys see Bama, Georgia and even Missouri? WV may be one of the top 4 or 5 offenses we play. Not bashing the guy I quoted but seriously this team will give up more than 500 yards to at least 5 teams this year. Crazy is we barely got 300 yards ourselves and this is not a top 5 defense we will play this year.

Actually it made sense. Thats why they got better as the game went on. Also made sense about WV playing 7 man protect being why we didn't see us getting pressure. We pull enough guys to outnumber them, we leave the backend 1 on 1 and Grier and his WR's are too good to do that. Everytime we loaded the box with an 8th man we got burned.

I been as critical as anybody to this staff being rookies at their jobs and whatnot but I didn't see a coach making excuses. I seen just the opposite actually. I heard a coach speaking like a coach and actually saying reasons for this or that the way a coach would instead of going off on a brick by brick or eye discipline tangent like I've been hearing for the last few years. For that, I have respect for Pruitt.

TRUTH !

Yeah....he's a hard guy not to like right now. Bottom line is we got blown out....AGAIN. So sick of this. Every time we take the field we are getting blown azz out. I saw nothing from today that gives me any optimism whatsoever. Alabama and Georgia are going to absolutely destroy us...and I am so sick and tired of that. I HOPE we get better...but i'm just being honest...I saw NOTHING to indicate we will get better. The only thing that would make me think we will...is just the blind hope that we get better with experience. NOTHING on the field indicated we necessarily will...Especially when we got worse as the game wore on. Fight? I didn't see it. I saw a team that folded as it went on. Very disappointed in Pruitt's debut cuz it looks obvious we will most likely not win an SEC game this year. I expected better. A LOT better. Pruitt does seem like a stand up guy. Nothing personal against him. But we are REALLY bad....and he isn't helping.

Lol....would you like some cheese with your whine? Get a clue man.

He takes responsibility which is something we didn’t hear much of from botch. He shouldn’t take it too hard on himself however because this is a mess he inherited.

We have two cupcakes being served up in Neyland before Florida. Last year we struggled with the cupcakes along with everyone else. I think it was those performances that were the hardest to stomach. If Pruitt is the guy we were hoping for, we should at least perform well against the gimme games and not lose to UK and Vandy.

That' about as humble and straight forward and well explained I've heard from a coach in a losing game presser. In reality, this game was important because all are important to win, and for bowl eligibility...but, in reality, IF...big IF, we can make adjustments and get better over next two minor games, this loss could serve as good way to promote development of the team. We absolutely have got to figure out how to get some pressure on the QB, or our young DB's are in for a long season. BTW, I did like how Pruitt explained their "7 protect", and choosing not to leave DB's on isolation. Doesn't really matter, at the end of the day, but at least you're understanding where he's coming from.

Guess it's a good thing most teams get better as the season goes on.

Everyone who is bashing the secondary I have a few words I wish to share with you. One we were REALLY bad for a few years on the backend. It could be why CJP uses his expertise there in practice a lot.
And let's not act like we just played some freshman QB. We played the #1 Quarterback coming out of that 2014 class. He improved his game through PEDs and now plays in a pass happy offense.
Lets be real. Grier was a Heisman contender coming into the season for a reason. He will make a lot of defenses look bad. We were no exception.

That doesn't mean we won anything. But we might want to at least consider we played a tough opponent in week one and we only won 4 games last year. Take a deep breath

I did see those 3 teams play 2 D2 schools and a team that rarely has a good defense. You can believe what you want, but as i said, doubt we see any better. As good? maybe, but won't see a better group of skill players than we faced this weekend.
