Jeremy Pruitt… worst UT head coach ever?

He couldn’t get along with anybody to let them do their damn job.

Stupid mistakes, kept trotting out JG out there every week for too long, offense was extremely boring.

Why not? One reason would be he couldn't speak like an educated adult. That Pruitt made it through an interview and still got hired is indicative of the fact Fulmer wasn't remotely qualified to be AD

I suspect the interview went something like this "I want a 90s off tackle offense, none of this spread garbage, also, I'll be stopping by practice...a lot. If you agree, I'll make you rich."

Pruitt was an absolute douche bag who had the personality of a rock. Just because he worked in bigtime programs doesn't make him a big time coach and fact is he had issues getting along and working together at every stop he made. Fulmer was an idiot for hiring the clown. Not to mention Pruitt, Dooley, and Jones were all out of their league.

I think Fulmer’s secret intent was to have Pruitt fail epically so he could come back as coach and “save the program”

I’m kidding but let’s be honest it wouldn’t be a stretch for Fulmer lol

He wanted the head coaching job when he got the AD job. Thornton was texting Barb telling her Phil was ready to take the reigns.

I know there are some more really bad ones but I would have to say yes. I’m sure an old timer could school me on someone who was worse (have only been a fan since ‘90) . In my time as a fan I would definitely have to anoint him the worst over Dooley. Beats Dooley out on sheer stupidity and having the personality of a p’d off bag of sand. Also, honestly the played for Bama thing didn’t help him in retrospect with the fans.
Bama fans want him back lol

Hamilton locked Leach up! Phil wormed his way in and got Hamilton fired and he's the jerk responsible for Pruitt! Funny that people can't seem to actually say it but it is all on Phil Fulmer! Two things Phil loved: The Vols --and a camera in front of his face! (and millions of dollars in buyout after buyout!)

Not Hamilton--Currie! When you follow this ship show as long as we have, ships run together!

Think you missed an AD or two in there.

For coaches lasting more than a year at UT, his .457 win % is the 2nd worst ever. And he had to cheat to achieve that. I'm guessing the combined NCAA sanctions and his horrible record will make his tenure one of the worst in SEC history.

Dooley was not a nice guy at all. You are seriously misinformed on that one.
I met him and talked with him on more than one occasion, outside of Fulmer, he was the nicest TN coach I've been around. I have not met Heupel yet.

It was Currie not Hamilton. Hamilton is the one responsible for the kiffin fiasco

Have a relative who worked in the athletic department when Dooley was there. Said Dooley was a complete arse hat to everyone except the folks he thought could help him out. Said Dooley was the most unlikable coach in any sport at UT that he had worked around.

Yes. Bad coach and a total Richard. You can be a Richard as long as you’re successful (Saban). Jurrrmmy thought he could act like Saban from day one. Doesn’t work that way.

Pruitt was the worst manager, but the best at stocking the cupboard. Butch lucked into legacies, but couldn't manage anything.

Dooley hired a great initial staff, but made the fatal Sunseri move.

It seemed like Pruitt was deliberately tanking the program. He was the worst by far. Schiano would've inevitably been miles better, but I doubt any of the fans want to do mirror time on that one.
