Jeremy Banks

Other than the bone headed penalties I thought he played well. Thought he was our best linebacker when not making dumb penalties.
I think he made a number of mental mistakes which had an negative impact on the game. He also had not played in a game for over a year.

I agree with you.
The late hit wasn't blatant.. It was just late. I didn't see what caused the helmet penalty. Both sides where jawing at each other often in the second half. Its a wonder more didn't lose their cool. That happens in football.. They say Banks is very critical of himself. He will only get better. GoVols!

I think 3 yards out of bounds played into the call.

I didn't say he should not have been flagged.. I said it wasn't blatant.. His momentum carried him 3 yards or more. He didn't look to me like he was trying to kill the dude vs losing track of where he was in field of play that often happens.. The play deserved a flag I was just saying I didn't think (my opinion) it was blatant.. The helmet thing.. That is a total different issue.

Looks like a rouge thumper to me, need stoutness like that for the 10 SEC game season.
Also, no injuries I don't think.
Those refs were as out of practice.
Not the same feel, hopefully the groove gets set.

They took advantage of crouch not being a very good pass defender. They licked in him all night. Crouch just has to get better with m coverage[/QUOT

I will always believe Crouch could be one of the best RBs in the SEC, he has that unique vision equired. LB not so much. He will never make an NFL linebacker.

Like to see some fire. Been lacking around here for quite some time. But there’s a fine line between Stand up for yourself, don’t let anyone push you around and overly aggressive stupidity. There were several times Banks and Thompson were both standing over people taunting. Glad it didn’t get called and usce was playing a little dirty and yapping too, but gotta be smarter.

Sidenote: #18 got burned like 3 times last night. He’s the weak point in our secondary.

Giving up 30 yds to penalties or 30 yards because of poor play, I'll go with effort and proper position.
Crouch was underperforming .
Crouch was out of position a LOT and compounded it by staring at the play flat footed. Noted by Tim Priest on the broadcast. Banks had some tackles for loss due to his anticipation and instincts. Hope Pruitt runs knucklehead moments out via steps.

I'm not concerned at all. He saved us a lot more than he didn't. I trust Pruitt will get that under control. Not that hard. Nobody in the history of football routinely gets personal fouls every game. It won't be much of a problem and we need his edge.
