Jeremy Banks needs to be dismissed

Dang did you read the post? It’s in there.

It did not “start” from a U turn. That night, that situation “started” because Banks chose to drive even though “he” knew his license was suspended and he had a warrant........which was “caused” by mistakes he made even earlier and never chose to correct.
He got pulled over because it popped up on their screen that he made a bad decision?

Banks didn't get pulled over....I thought he was the passenger?

Banks got pulled over for the U Turn.

"A University of Tennessee police officer stopped Banks around 3:45 a.m. Sunday after he made an illegal U-turn at Volunteer Boulevard and Lake Loudoun Boulevard, according to the arrest report. Banks received a written warning for the traffic violation and was arrested after a records check showed an active warrant."

Sad thing is deep down BANKS meant what he said. Threatening a female makes him a really tough guy. Take your Gold teeth and thug attitude and GTFO !

Wouldn't someone need to do more than threaten someone to be considered "a thug"?

Or is he a thug because of the illegal uturn and unpaid ticket?

Young adults have bad days and make mistakes, just like everyone else. We all say some pretty stupid stuff at times, just as Banks did that night. I bet (hope) that he learned his lesson, and don't think he needs to be reprimanded with dismissal by any means.

That being said... did you hear him speak? Did you see those teeth? Banks is absolutely a thug; that's not an indictment of his character or commentary on an unfortunate warrant situation, but rather a pretty clear observation based on the colloquial meaning of the word.

This thread has ran so long, I haven't had time to read the article.

U-turns are legal in Alabama, so..........Not Guilty

Once again, why did he get pulled over? Can you not answer that?

An illegal U turn

But that has nothing to do with our conversation. You said “Remember this is all over a wrong U turn.”

I say NO this (what happened that night) started because Banks chose to drive knowing he didn’t have a valid license and knowing he had a warrant..........you never said “remember he was pulled over because of a U turn........I can’t dispute that.

Oh my goodness.......all you ever want to do is be confrontational. Your statement I was referring to was wrong, and it’s still wrong. I didn’t call you out and say “hey your wrong” just gave information on what was correct.

Glad it took multiple times to answer a simple question. You also chose to reply to a response about someone clamoring that Banks is lucky he wasn't drug tested or given a field sobriety test. An illegal U Turn isn't usually the sign of any driving under the influence. The Warrant had nothing to do with the comment you chose to respond too.

Be better.

No

It was said “this all happened because of a U turn (not exact words).

But that’s not correct. The situation started when Banks chose to drive that night knowing he had suspended license and a warrant. Later he chose to make an illegal U turn and got stopped by law enforcement.

That was never said. You just can't read and follow comments. I never once said the U Turn is what started all this mess.

Here’s what you appear to be quoting. That is regarding assault, not threats.
It's regarding both (criteria for a threat being charged as assault). That's where I started, but I couldn't find anything else that seems to fit the situation (the threat has to be in writing or through electronic means to fit other laws).

Here's the full text of that law:
law.justia.com - 2018 Tennessee Code Title 39 - Criminal Offenses Chapter 13 - Offenses Against Person Part 1 - Assaultive Offenses § 39-13-101. Assault

So it’s a months long situation and an incident...cool. Time to move on.

Only a ignorant buffoon thinks gold teeth or the way someone speaks makes them a thug.

You don't know the meaning of the word obviously. Unless you have some hidden meaning of thug you want to share.

You said (basically) it all started from a U turn. Which infers hey a U turn isn’t that big a deal, it just spiraled after that.

Which part is really correct. u turn.....no big deal, it got a bit worse afterwards, but never to the level of actual threatening officers.

However the spiraling began much sooner. When Banks made mistakes and refused to correct them.

The situation was from Banks own doing and happened (that night) because he chose to drive, not from a simple U turn.

I made a comment on what I thought was wrong. Then I showed what was correct. However now I should choose something different to comment on OK.

Looks like the right by Stokely Hall just wonder do cops hang out on campus all night like 24/7? I thought college cops or security took care of most of that stuff. I know private schools you would be confronted by security more or less. Probably would have never made the paper, lol. I'm pro cop but gotta keep it real and fair.

So you don't think the cop is capable of forming his own feelings and opinions?

Check.....

First off, people don't "form their own feelings". We feel. We can, to some extent, train ourselves ahead of time so that when situations occur, we don't overreact based on feelings, but we don't wait for a situation, then decide how we're going to feel about it.

Secondly, huh? The very point I made was that the officer's feelings do not enter into this at all. Just because someone doesn't feel threatened doesn't mean that threats weren't made. How in the world could you interpret that to mean that he or she isn't capable of feelings and opinions.

And I said you are wrong.

Banks driving that night (when he shouldn’t have) started it, not the U turn.
