Jeremy Banks needs to be dismissed

Look, Boro much you scream for help, I and no one can help you. When you decided to be a Bama fan wearing Gator panties, and get a bulldog tattoo on your right butt cheek, you doomed yourself. There's nothing no one can do to help you now. I'm sorry about your indiscretion and fate.
Once again....please show where anything in my post you took issue with was in response to you, and not to @VOLnMiami? When you do that, I’ll confer to you the respect and admiration you apparently feel you deserve.

Sorry we appear to have gotten crossways previously....but apparently it wasn’t memorable enough for me to recall it. By the content of your current posts it’s no wonder.

He made a lot of racial comments in the video, not solely directed at the officers. I wonder if he got to smack all of the crackers he shared the detention facilities with?
What about the blatantly sexist comments to the female cadet?

No he dont need to be dismissed. Not trying to make this a racial thing, but as a black man we are always defensive when it come to police officers. We just dont trust them.

I am going to disagree. I haven't watched the video bit from comments the cops did nothing wrong. He got pissed because he thought he was entitled. And no I don't think he should be kicked off the team. Also, I am from Memphis.

And you're still posting me. One can only wonder why? Do you yourself know?

Not ideal words, agree....but, even me, at 49, grew up to rap songs such as “**** the police”...

A societal indoctrination...
This is the sad truth but it still isn't an excuse. If there isn't a severe punishment things will only get worse on and off the field for us.

Does BVS cause spontaneous reduction in IQ. From the bulk of the threads on this board now; I think we need to call the CDC and get some sort of vaccine started. This is getting pretty contentious.

Im not saying the cops did anything wrong, but as a black man we are always gonna be defensive when we see a cop or get pulled over by one. I had plenty of bad of experience with law enforcement. Cops almost killed me in my own yard. I come out my house not knowing that police officers are walking in my yard at 1030 at night and 3 officers drew guns on me. One sudden movements by me and I can guarantee you I would have been dead in my own yard. The officers never made it known that they was patrolling my yard.

What I'm saying is that I don't think it's an FSU/UGA thing. I think it's a big time college football thing and we're not special.

We aren't special? You sure? I feel special...

No. The writer said “shame on you”. I just pointed out I’m not the only one with my opinion. And we are all entitled to our own opinion. Have a good day
Well, to be fair, as is always the case with topics like this, a lot of minds have changed as more information has become available; minds will likely continue to change as this story heats up nationally... the pressure is just now mounting.

When I posted about the Fox News story 20 minutes ago, a few comments up, there were only 500 comments... it's now 1,200 and still going strong.
Fox News comment section has NOTHING on VolNation. We know how much that’s worth, right?

Get rid of the thugs!!

Those commenters on Fox News live for the moment that an AA youth messes up. That shouldnt be the barometer as to whether or not we keep Banks....
Nope, but it's naive to think all this negative publicity won't affect how UT chooses to act.

Thankfully they didnt come in your house and shoot you on the couch while you were eating ice cream because they "thought they were in their own house".

Man people are quick to pass judgment on others for something someone said in the heat of the moment, out of anger, stress or any instance that makes them feel uncomfortable. I agree that disciplinary action needs to be taken but dismissal is a bit much. We are not talking a sexual assault or anything of the like here. I do not condone his actions but I am objective as well. I am pretty sure there are many in this forum that has said things out of anger they wished that hadn't. The kid is only 19, still an adolescent and is still maturing. It isn't the lone action I am concerned with it; it is how he responds. Also, shame on the police for releasing the footage there was no reason to make this public, it was a traffic violation that resorted in an arrest due to an outstanding warrant for failing to show in court for a previous traffic violation. KPD acts like this was some sort of physical assault and had to justify themselves. Sounds like someone on the force wants JP gone.

The kid had a warrant for failing to address a speeding ticket. If this story is national, it’ll last as long as it takes for a real news story to happen. 😴

Good Post. Banks is a 19-20 year old kid. He should not have made the comments and should have to run the stadium steps as a consequence but that is all. Cut this kid a break given the context. Not a minority, but it is clear all over the nation that black men are targeted by unprofessional police officers that do not have reasonable suspicion to make a stop. Plain and simple. Having said that, the PO in this video followed their training and acted completely professional. Kudos to the PO.

First, I applaud the work our LEO does, especially in cities as dangerous as Memphis. You are correct that some LEO have at least an unconscious bias.

I'm a Caucasian male and back in 2004 I lived in a suburb of Memphis (Bartlett). I was 24 and owned a house in a neighborhood there. Well, I had an older car that didnt have functioning heat so I wore a hoodie sweatshirt to drive to the store one day when it was really really cold. I got pulled over twice before I exited the neighborhood (the given reason was they couldnt tell if I had my seatbelts on). When I mentioned that I was pulled over twice within a half mile, the second officer told me not to wear a hoodie while driving...
