Oh yes the good ole I’m a better fan than you comment. How about this, I called Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt all bad hires when we hired them. I’m sure the athletic department loves all of you orange tinted glasses fans bc they can shovel you the same **** over and over again and you’ll keep buying it. I’ll see you in the coaching search thread in a few years
We don’t have a choice.

Why don’t you like the hire? What would you have done instead?

I would’ve offered Matt Campbell a blank check. I know the real world doesn’t work that way necessarily in all situations but this university rakes in insane money, and by hiring a homerun coach you start winning more and winning more means you make your money back and profit. But instead we go get a so called top notch AD just for him to go hire his coach at the place he was the AD before. It’s blasphemy

And I don’t like the hire bc he’s gotten worse every year as more of Scott frosts recruits have left. I live in Orlando, believe me, UCF fans are thrilled we took him off their hands and that tells you everything

You know the guy is like 28-8, right? I don’t understand the Matt Campbell worship.. to me, what he’s done looks ok. Matt Campbell turned us down. We don’t know how much we offered. Could’ve been the bank. This job just sucks right now. He’s got it really easy where he’s at

He lost 1, 3 and 4(in a COVID year with 10 + opt outs). Another thing - the reason they lost the few games that they did was because they couldn’t stop anybody. That is on Shannon. If he brings him along, I could see problems

The 28-8 can be misleading. The more of frosts players that left the worse his record got. Also in 2020 his recruiting class ranked 7th in the AAC, and his school is in Florida a recruiting hotbed. So as his recruits came in, their performance went down and that isn’t debatable. If they kept winning even with frosts players leaving, I’d be thrilled. But they went backwards, they regressed.

A loss is a loss though. All teams dealt with Covid and opt outs. I can’t use a loss as reason to justify why a coach is good.

For the record, I hope he ends up being awesome. I’m more worried about his recruiting ability than anything.

I mean 3/4 of the games he lost were by one score... we’ve been getting our brains beat in the past 3 years

Would love the hire. Lane Kiffin calls most of the plays at Ole Miss any how. So just maybe 🤔 he may wanna call his own plays on his own and is CJH agrees to it that may be enough for him to leave Ole Piss and come to UT.
Heufel said he is going to call the plays in offense.

The OC is going to be a splash hire. But that really depends on personal preference and what type of "splash" you're looking for.

Its going to be somewhere between Goose ejecting in Top Gun and splashing down and the Triple Lindy dive from Back to School. Your pendulum for where the splash falls: a fat girl on a rope swing at the lake..

Let’s don’t act like Frost built UCF into a perennial G5 powerhouse, that had been good for 10 years. He coached there for two seasons. Two. One could even make the inference that Frost won with George O’Leary’s players.

Doesn’t change the fact UCF regressed under JH
