Saban an older defensive coach. Check

Had losing records in the NFL. Saban, Spurrier, Holtz. Check.

May get flamed but it won't be the first time on here, but if we can hire Fisher then I say we do it. He would provide good stable leadership and be able to run the team with discipline. Let him hire his coaching staff he's not gonna be a micromanager which would free up the assistants to do there jobs which would improve play all over the team

That is my primary thought as well...we could do much worse here, and probably will...but Fisher

1. Had to work with Bud Adams and did so with minimal impact--so he should be able to work with boosters
2. Has a lot of experience coaching (NFL) and been to a superbowl
3. Played in the league as well....so he can also talk with recruits about playing in the league
4. Is not someone who ruffles feathers...will provide some stability here that is much needed at this point
5. Could likely put together a pretty good staff with his contacts
6. Ran the Titans as a CEO...is not a micromanager. Players and coaches enjoyed being with him

Does he have experience recruiting? No. Would it be difficult for him? No, I have always found him personable.

Much better than a McGoogle coach.

Fisher? Negative.

I guess that is too complicated for some to comprehend.

The last time Fisher was involved in college recruiting was his own. In 1976.

College recruiting is a vastly different beast 45 years later.

He would be the most experienced head coach Tennessee would have hired in ever?

Thank you, my whole point was not that JF was a bad coach, just a bad fit at the collegiate level. It is two way different skill sets, and thank you for your input.

Pretty certain that Saban won 5 championships AFTER his NFL coaching. Check.

Holtz's college record was average before the NFL and won a national championship AFTER he returned to college. Check.

If you knew 1/10th of what you thought you knew about college football, you would be dangerous. DOUBLE CHECK.

Are we talking about the same Jeff Fisher that can't get back into the NFL a league that rehashes coaches over and over ? No thank you. UT needs to hire a winner not Jeff Fisher.

He might be the best we can get after all this stuff goes down...I would not be upset with us hiring him...Showing off that super bowl ring and that NC ring he won in recruits houses can't hurt!....He might be a rock star at this stuff you never know.

Exactly. Nobody knows. He could be like Pete Carroll if he hires the right staff. He has so much experience. He is a player’s coach...he believes in family...he would be a great closer on the recruiting trail. We will never know but I think he would be great if given the opportunity.
