If he decides to go to USCe, then I say good luck to him. We already have a much better back in Oku, tons more physical. I personally don't know anything about this young mans character or attitude, I just think that Oku is the more gifted back of the two.

Plus we have Hardesty and Creer in the backfield which will be UT's future for the next couple of years and I think we are in good hands with these 2, if the OL can get their act together.

Sportsradio 1400 read a quote that Giles thinks USCe's fanbase is like Nebraska's.

Wow... how did they convince him of that?

One program has a rich championship history.... the other has NEVER won the SEC. Actually, they have the same number of SEC Championships... maybe that's the similarity.

I hadn't realized that Oku was rated higher on Rivals than Giles.

I'd really like Giles, but to be honest, the main reason I want him at this point is so he doesn't go to South Carolina. If it was between us and Nebraska, I'd be pretty neutral. It's always nice to have more good players, but I don't want to piss off our already stellar stable.

It will be one commitment we have really lost since Fulmer has left. I don't think we have lost anyone else. Our momentum is based off of the Kiffin hire anyways, not Giles.

FWIW... I watched film on Oku and Giles and Oku looks like a far better running back than Giles. Giles appears to have a little more speed and a lot better acceleration but I can't seem him being an every down back.

Oku's cuts and ability to find running lanes is very impressive.

As mentioned Giles uses pure speed while Oku uses his vision and more cuts.

I don't know what you're saying. What momentum has there been in response to the Kiffin hire? We haven't had one single commit. A Giles commitment would raise a lot of eyebrows on the part of some guys that are seriously considering UT.

Like another poster stated, the momentum will have to come from somewhere else in all likelihood. It's not a make or break, but just look at the full-court press we put on him with Hamilton, Reaves, Drayton, and Kiffin if you want an example of how important Giles is to this class.

Talking about the negativity that surrounds the Cocks' program on 1400 now. That makes sense as they got totally destroyed by UF and Clemson as their season was winding down. Spurrier has failed as did Holtz.

I agree about the LOI, but I think that JG is an early enrolee and I am pretty sure that if he signs at USC, he will enroll in Dec to countback to last years class so this is pretty much it (in this case)...as for I hate orange...I will never understand going to another team's board and running my mouth! A Giles commitment has great upside potential for creating momentum, however I don't see a big downside effect if he goes to USCe.

Don't think that they aren't worried about that bowl game either. Kirk Ferentz has those Hawkeyes playing some good football and Shonn Greene is a beast.

The whole deal is we want to sew up all the prior commitments that fit Kiffin's ideas so that we don't get a lot of negative recruiting. Like I said in my previous post, who all have we lost. Losing one recruit or maybe even two is better than losing half the class.

I've visited CockyTalk and it seems like more of them are just as delusional as ihateorange. I'm sure there are some level headed people over there though.
