I love how a lot of you have turned your back on him saying you don't want him now.
No one is saying they don't want him as a talent and a RB. He seems way to diva-like at this point. He said he was going to put the school Drayton goes to in his top 2? But doesn't matter what the school is... and the team he had been committed to keeps Drayton... sounds like a win/win... but obviously not. He's just making quick decisions based on his emotions and not using his head imo based on the fact his comments aren't echoing what he's planning on doing.
And as someone mentioned earlier - he's way to attached to a single coach in Drayton. Everyone would want him here - but we don't need him - Oku is a little better and we still have a lot of great RBs.
The fact that he's (supposedly) announcing tuesday shows major immaturity on his part imo. If he likes Drayton that much... and he's not willing to meet with Kiffin before he decides. As of now Drayton is still on the staff to recruit and will be evaluated by Kiffin later.
That shows so much bias its not even funny. Maybe Giles is wondering how he can take Reaves seriously when 1 day he is selling USC to him as the best place for him to go and the next day he is selling UT to him. Seems kinda shallow and I think Giles sees through it.

Giles Moving Closer To Commitment Day
By Phil Kornblut
He didn't mean to tip his hand, and maybe he didn't, but RB Jarvis Giles (6-0 180) of Tampa Tuesday night may have provided a clue about what he's thinking regarding making a commitment to either USC or Nebraska. Giles disclosed that USC head coach Steve Spurrier and running backs coach Robert Gillespie will make an in home visit with him and his family Thursday night. Asked if that meeting could seal the deal on a commitment to the Gamecocks, Giles responded, "I know for a fact I'm going to.... well, I mean, I'm going to make a commitment next week." Asked if he meant he was going to commit to USC, Giles would only say USC and Nebraska are his top two. Nebraska's running backs coach visited him Monday. "It went real good," he said. "He explained a lot of stuff to my dad. My dad walked out with a lot more knowledge about Nebraska." Tennessee recruiters Stan Drayton and David Reaves are to visit Giles Friday, Giles, a former Tennessee commitment, said he's not strongly considering the Vols. "I just want to hear what they're going to say."
Its his freakin' job. If you or Giles can't understand he's getting paid to bring players to UT now - then we don't want someone is that dumb in the head. Sure - its confusing... but he probably felt like a moron trying to sell USCe to that kid over UT... I sure would.
Well thats too bad. Recruiting is a "job" with any coach. Once again - if he doesn't realize that then he's pretty dense. I just feel bad for Reaves that he's had to lie to recruits telling USCe is the best place for them.
I think this simply comes down to a clear, direct path to immediate playing time.
At Carolina, Giles will likely tote the rock a ton in his freshman year. He may even be at the top of the depth chart there as a freshman.
At Tennessee - he'd be competing with Oku as an incoming freshman, and he'd be behind Creer, Hardesty, and Poole.
Kiffin, Drayton, and ihateorange's homeboy will be making an in-home visit to Giles on Friday. The fact that he's (supposedly) announcing tuesday shows major immaturity on his part imo. If he likes Drayton that much... and he's not willing to meet with Kiffin before he decides. As of now Drayton is still on the staff to recruit and will be evaluated by Kiffin later.
I am certain that no recruit is so short-sighted that they look at USC Jr.'s victory over a dismal UT this season as anything other than an anomaly...USC crushed UT. Its gotta be easier to tell them its better. Plus we offer more playing time and a proven winner as a coach.
