Jarvis Giles

He said look other places and do whats best for him. Drayton didn't know whether he was going to be retained or not - I'd be fine with that if he said that if he had been fired - but he wasn't.

My UF buddy told me Drayton sucked and I didn't listen.
Looking back, UF sucked at running the ball the three years he was there and UT sucked this year. I say keep Scott, Drayton can go on with his bad self.

i cant rate Drayton.. because our o-line sucked sooo bad.. that no RB could've done better..

They seemed good once they got into space.. and Foster seemed to have a Burst he's never had.. so idk

UF never really had a true running back when he was there... this year they ran a lot more with Moody/Demps and them.

Well it looks like Nebraska and South Carolina are extremely close..

Giles: South Carolina, Nebraska “neck and neck”

Despite a recent effort by new Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin to woo Gaither running back Jarvis Giles back into a verbal commitment for the Vols, Giles said told the Times that South Carolina and Nebraska are “neck and neck” as his favorites.

Giles returned from his official visit to Nebraska this weekend – he saw the Huskers’ rivalry game with Colorado – impressed.

“The atmosphere in that stadium was outrageous,” Giles said. “It was like the stands were shaking in there. When it comes to that I think Nebraska’s got the edge. And Nebraska has a 96 percent graduation rate, so that’s impressive too.”

Giles said he talked to Kiffin Sunday morning, a day before he was introduced as Tennessee's new head coach, and that he told him he saw his tape and said he was an "impressive back."

"He said he'd look at more and get back to me," Giles said. "Lane Kiffin is Lane Kiffin. He seems like a good coach. I mean, he coached Reggie Bush (at USC) and he's a good back, but we'll see. I'm still decommitted."

South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier is planning a visit Thursday (He is also expected to visit Hillsborough running back Lindsey Lamar also). Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini has also pledged a visit this week.

“It’s going to be a busy week,” Giles said.

Is it just me or does this kid talk more than he does anything else? He better be the best running back in the country (Nebraska, Carolina, Tennessee, who cares really) for the amount of talking he does.

Bring on the Oku kid.

Have fun at Carolina Giles, keep in mind you'll never win the East in your two, three or four years there. No matter how good UT is, USC won't beat UGA, UT and UF in the same year. At least not in the near future.

That does not sound to good for us. Hopefully, Lane can work his magic on him before signing day.

I really could care less if he comes or not, we have Hardesty, Creer and Oku. Why do we need him and his ego?

Well - Kiffin hasn't really made an effort yet... so we'll say - he said "he'll get back to him" or whatever and only called him impressive.

Its a shame that he didn't get to go see the "real" experience at Neyland when we aren't this bad. Our atmosphere in a big game puts Nebraska's and USC's to shame. No offense Herbie and Nebraska - its just hard to emulate 100,000+ fans when your stadium can't hold them. Plus when you just look at the stadium... its just breath taking.

I think if Kiffin goes after him as hard as possible and keep Drayton he's still ours. This guy is swayed and is high on a visit. That'll die down and he'll make his decision.

ya you guys have 15k more seats than us so imagine it can get louder when you arent losing to Wyoming(sorry i had to).

But I have seen Tenns facilities and they have some of the best facilities just like Nebraska and great fans.

Both Nebraska and Tennessee are alike plenty of money, tradition rich, best facilities, and GREAT FANS.

IMO, both should be able to trump So Car fairly easily.

Agreed, but I would rather be in South Carolina than Nebraska in general. Just the state I mean.. not the school - dunno if that will factor in it.

We may have lost to Wyoming - but how many points were scored on your team over the past few years? Who was it that hung 70 on you?

lol, to be honest Lincoln and Omaha get a bad rap from the rest of the state, these are two decent sized cities with plenty to do, just dont go outside them.

Are you seriously ragging on Tennessee while your team is getting stomped by 40+ points by every Big 12 team you play?

Texas Tech, and I loved it.

Everyone seems to forget about Poole...he is an explosive runner who should get reps next year.

When I was reading that comment I thought the exact same thing. Poole has alot of potential IMO. A very good athlete.

The more stud runningbacks the better. Can't have too many. Hopefully Lane can get in on Giles and convince him this is the place. Otherwise, it's South Carolina which surprises me.

One would think with the way he has spoken in the past, that the relationship he has with certain coaches that are recruiting him seem to be very important to him. Thus saying he isn't feeling Tennessee anymore confuses me. There has to be some kind of serious negative recruiting that's gone on recently.

No, it's a kid that was recruited by a coach that sold himself before the university. Giles should be ecstatic that Kiffin is here, but what Giles is showing shows me what I mentioned above to be more true than not.
