Jarrett Guarantano

so let me get this straight just because my nephew play on the team I cant make statements? Im not giving out team info or news on what go on the team..im letting yall know what the hell I saw last night..

damn u hit on the head..this what ive been preaching and this the problem that I have with butch..damn it be a man name a damn starter and get it over with..get ur set players out on the field and roll with them..for a kid to act like that last night he promised him something im pretty sure he told him he was going in 2nd half too..

That's a pretty big "pretty sure" you are putting out there. You should be damn sure before stating such a thing.

Coach Jones is the reason for all of this. I don't blame Guarantano.

He always does this crap with co-starters. Name a starter and be transparent rather than babying your players. He's done it every damn season with key positions.

Make a decision and stick with it. He probably made promises to both quarterbacks and didn't hold up to it. How am I a co-starter and I don't see the field.

Same thing with Dobbs and Peterman. Same with Kamara and Hurd. This is starting to get old. No wonder why so many good players leave year after year. The problem isn't the players, its the coach.

I had no problem with CBJ failing to name (publically) a starter at QB. The two QBs had to know who was starting as you tend to script at least the first series. There was also an article during the week when one of the players, and I forgot who it was, stated that the team knew who the starting QB was already.

Has CBJ stated that the QBs are co-starters? If so, I guess I missed that. He had them listed together on the depth chart, but I assumed that was only to keep GT from knowing who the starter would be.

GT would have frustrated JG until he sat his butt down in the middle of the field and cried. He wasn't even on the field and he did that.

No one said you can't say anything. I only said you aren't doing your nephew or his team any favors by sowing dissension.

Should Dormady's uncle come on here and start whining about Jennings and Wolf's drops?

Once UT settled down,we scored on them pretty much at will. Kelly ran through them like water.

I don't buy that GT would have frustrated him or that they are any good at all. UT was UTs biggest obstacle on offense last night. I think JG wanted to tear them a new one and he wasn't allowed.

Well said. Coach Cliché has done nothing but be mealy mouthed about this whole thing.

JG had a right to be upset about it, but I think he should have been a little more cognizant about it being noticed and acted accordingly. But the biggest blunder here is that the coaching staff set it up to be this way and did nothing to address it on the sideline. No engagement from the staff on the sideline at al.

I'm pretty sure you have no clue what you're talking about.. Please do your nephew a favor and STOP posting...

Last thing we need is another Hurd in the locker room.

JG, your one play from being in the game. Wait your turn or gtfo.

Lawd this thread. Smh. The kid was p!$$ed. It happens. Learn from it and move on.

JG was our biggest sideline cheerleader last year. He followed the coaches around all game every game. Soaked up as much as he could all season. He is a competitor and based on all of last season, a great teammate.

I would put $10,000 on it that Coach Jones has promised him all offseason that he would play in that game. I'm sure it went something like "you may not get the start, but you will get your shots." I guarantee he has heard it for weeks.

IMO, the reason he did what he did was that he was sold a lie by the coach and figured it out shortly after half. Even one of the assistants went over to try and console him during the game as was caught on tv. I'm sure that conversation went something like "Keep your head up. Your chance is coming. Just stay in the game" It never came. Was never going to. He figured it out and was rightfully pissed.

Let's play a hypothetical real quick. Let's say you were part of a work team that had worked on a project for months without pay. Your boss told you that you would for sure get your money at some point. It may not be right away but it would for sure be coming and would be worth your time. Then, as all the cash from said job was handed out, your name never got called. How would you feel about that? How would you feel if everyone hounded you for being pissed about it? Cut the kid some slack. Geeze.

It's one thing to be a cheerleader as a redshirt player, but another when the players and coaches look to you as a leader. JG showed no leadership skills last night. Seeing how he handled the situation all night, I wouldn't have put him in either. Was he promised playing time last night? I don't know and neither do you. The game dictated who played as did the coaches' thoughts on who gave them the best chance to win.

If JG wants to play, he needs to step up and act like a leader. If he did it last year, then he at least knows how it is done. From what I saw, he did not meet with the offensive players, he wasn't following the coaches around listening, he wasn't speaking with QD, etc.

I don't think you guys understand what a passing pro style offense is or how it works because you haven't seen it in so long. This isn't high school woopsie doo. It warms up like an engine. You open up lanes and wear your opponent over time chasing UFO's and that opens up the run game. Next time you watch that GT game watch how beat up GT was at the end of that game. They could hardly stand up and there is a reason they made mistakes and lost. They were too tired to keep going. Our O is a patient game. It's 60 minutes.

at least im perpetrating..u realize how many family memebers probably on this site? man please..i understand what u saying though..i just feel like if the job was a open compitetion they through out jg to see what he can do for a series or two..coach HARBAUGH did against florida it woke up spheights and he looked great..

He's pouting and sulking. Any good QB leader would be all engaged with a headset and clipboard.
Yeah, except he's what 19 - 20 yrs old? He's a competitor and wants to play and is probably good enough. He'll mature, give the kid a break.

Maybe he's mad considering QD is worse than Dobbs with accuracy at this point.

The throws weren't great, some were high, some were behind, but guess what? No interceptions!

I saw one that was somewhat close, but the db couldn't get to it, wasn't like he dropped a sure pic.

If we had any turnovers in that game against us, the fat lady would have been heard across the nation.

We were clawing to stay in it. Dormandy was steady eddie for his first start.

The D was pitiful. MOST RUN YARDS EVER AGAINST US, A RECORD. A record for GA Tech too. Death by 1000 cuts. You didn't many 20 plus yard runs either by them. We were just punched in the gut 95 times.

I'm thrilled we got a win, we didn't deserve it with that D. Dormandy led us to victory and is the starter. Now can we get a middle linebacker who can shed a block and with instincts please?

He'll get plenty of opportunities. In the mean time he better learn to control his emotions or he won't be able take advantage of those opportunities. We needed an upperclassman on that field last night that could control the game.

Just don't know how much I trust Butch. Kamara was a backup to Hurd. Bituli only got the start because Kirkland is out. Just seems like he's stubborn to a point where good players don't play because it's not on his "chart" or whatever.

If he lied to JG and said he was going to play, then I would be pissed, too. Dormady made plenty of mistakes. I don't understand why he didn't even try JG. How do we know he's worse when we've never seen him get game time? If he's worse, fine. I just don't know how much I trust Butch's decision on who is better anymore...

I agree JG needs a better attitude, but I still would have put him in to see what he could do.

Are we seriously at a point as a fan base where we immediately slam a kid for showing some emotions without actually knowing the reasons behind it?

I get that it wasn't a good look for JG or the team. But this is happening a little more often than I think most reasonable people would expect and is indicative of a larger problem within the program. Too many are looking at this like "we won, get over it" without realizing that if the game had swung the other direction or we were looking at a 43-42 loss, the microscope on the coaching and Dormady's play would be much larger than it is now. Many of the same people telling JG to get lost would be clamoring to know why he wasn't in the game, etc. etc.

Again, should Dormady's uncle come on here and whine about the WRs' drops? Would that help the team?

It's obvious you wanted JG to play. What would have happened to Dormady's confidence if he was benched so JG could have his chance and then he struggled? You would then have two QB's that would have their confidence shaken. Sometimes it's just better to pick your horse and stick with him. That proved to be the case last night.

You can't ignore the fact Dormady led his team to a victory. JG doing coming in and doing better than Dormady is just speculation and wishful thinking at this point.

Try enjoying the win and hope the weak spots are shored up soon.

The right to be upset? Bullsh!t... He has the duty and obligation to be a good teammate.

And just how do you know what the coaching staff has 'setup' or not 'setup'? Are you on the team or in the meetings? Didn't think so..

I have my issues with CBJ's coaching abilities but I don't know sh!t from shineola when it comes to the inner workings of team 121 and neither do 99.9% of the folks on here..

It is a team sport. The team comes first, always.
Watch how # 15 acts. He will lead from the sidelines.
# 7 and the other young WRs will get their chances to shine.
QD will only get better. One thing he has is the arm.
# 7's uncle, the Team won the game last night.
Be Happy. There is no "I" in team.

Well, to your point. What if he was upset at something else entirely? What if he was upset about JJ for instance?
