he missed my nephew a lot last night..it was sad..he made my nephew look bad last night..throwing behind him all the time..i just wanted my nephew to perform the way I know he capable of performing...I don't give a damn who at qb just be accurate make the damn throws..JOE WILLY can be at qb all I care..lol

Do you not expect him to learn and grow in the position? I expect he and the OL to get better as time goes on. If not, it will be a long season for the Vols.

The game dictates who plays. The coach cannot know how the game will play out. I am sure CBJ stated that JG would get some snaps, but the game did not allow for it. JG should play on Saturday.

All of which could be just as wrong as us supposing the earth is flat for our first 10,000 years as modern humans. Seems logical, but turns out to be dead wrong.

So could your suppositions be.

Funny thing is, we'll probably never know. Those who want to believe the worst of JG (or Butch) will go on believing they were right, even if they were dead wrong.

Coach Jones is the reason for all of this. I don't blame Guarantano.

He always does this crap with co-starters. Name a starter and be transparent rather than babying your players. He's done it every damn season with key positions.

Make a decision and stick with it. He probably made promises to both quarterbacks and didn't hold up to it. How am I a co-starter and I don't see the field.

Same thing with Dobbs and Peterman. Same with Kamara and Hurd. This is starting to get old. No wonder why so many good players leave year after year. The problem isn't the players, its the coach.

What world do we live in where we would have expected either one of these first time starters to come out and look like an All-American?

I don't understand. Butch made the right call at halftime by sticking with QD which is backed up by the W and his 2nd half stats, He wasn't perfect but performed well under pressure.

Give it a rest.

He thought he was going to maybe be the starter. I always knew he wasn't. It was tactic, develop like you are gonna start, maybe throw opposition for a loop in preparation, but you are a basically a Freshman

Know your roll son. Your roll is work hard and pay dues. Ppl were talking about taking Dormandy out for a "spark". I disagreed. Dropped passes and O line didn't give him time for first two quarters. And you can't bail on him so early!

But yes, I agree. Instead of him being happy for the W and his teammates, it is as though he wanted Dormandy to not throw a TD, for his personal gain. That is not being a good teammate. Lack of encouragement on the sideline when the going was tough too. He will be on the bench for next season too unless injury occurs. He will start as a RS Jr. or maybe Sr.

I would love to say that this is what I expect also. But we are talking about a junior and not a freshman. I also heard how in the past we had the most experienced OL in the country and it didn't pan out as advertised. At some point you have to ask is it all these players over 4+ years who all suck and were overrated or is it the coach who sucks and is overrated?

It's just a question you have to give serious thought to.

It just doesn't appear that Butch prepares his backups to one day be starters. At least not like other programs do.

WTF?? He named a starter and stuck with it. Better yet, the timing to name a starter made sense so that GT couldn't game plan all week agsivst it.

I like your use of "probably". Really backs up your assertions.

No we don't. QD played really well against a tough team a mile and a half from their university, especially given his lack of big game experience. JG sulked the whole game. Need for him to grow up.

damn u hit on the head..this what ive been preaching and this the problem that I have with butch..damn it be a man name a damn starter and get it over with..get ur set players out on the field and roll with them..for a kid to act like that last night he promised him something im pretty sure he told him he was going in 2nd half too..

JG was our biggest sideline cheerleader last year. He followed the coaches around all game every game. Soaked up as much as he could all season. He is a competitor and based on all of last season, a great teammate.

I would put $10,000 on it that Coach Jones has promised him all offseason that he would play in that game. I'm sure it went something like "you may not get the start, but you will get your shots." I guarantee he has heard it for weeks.

IMO, the reason he did what he did was that he was sold a lie by the coach and figured it out shortly after half. Even one of the assistants went over to try and console him during the game as was caught on tv. I'm sure that conversation went something like "Keep your head up. Your chance is coming. Just stay in the game" It never came. Was never going to. He figured it out and was rightfully pissed.


Let's play a hypothetical real quick. Let's say you were part of a work team that had worked on a project for months without pay. Your boss told you that you would for sure get your money at some point. It may not be right away but it would for sure be coming and would be worth your time. Then, as all the cash from said job was handed out, your name never got called. How would you feel about that? How would you feel if everyone hounded you for being pissed about it? Cut the kid some slack. Geeze.
