Jarrett Guarantano

He had three series... you can't tell anything from three series...

Plus the play with the 1st team vs ISU. Neither of these teams is UF. Neither is even in the same league as GT.

He is not ready for the SEC.

That said, he didn't get much help either. It is interesting how JG's fans... especially those who have been trashing Dormady for weeks... now see WR mistakes and poor blocking as a problem.

Here's a clue for you and all like you... UT's primary problems on O are not the QB. Neither of them. With good receiver play, you could get more out of both of them. With good, consistent OL play... you could get even more.

Exactly. I'm not saying he is the savior, but he barely got any chances. I liked that he stepped into his throws and was not afraid to take off. We have given QD three games, JG should get more opportunities too. He got thrown into a crappy situation today. Everybody always jumps on someone who talks negatively about Dormady, but you guys are pretty quick to insult and write off JG.

Yes we can. It was U Mass. He's just not as good a everyone thought he was.

He's very talented. He isn't ready. Dormady makes mistakes but for the most part he "sees" and recognizes what a D is doing much better than JG. JG hasn't figured it all out yet. He isn't "seeing" in a lot of situations. I know it is a little difficult not to be disappointed with him but the game is still "too fast" for him... even vs UMass and ISU.

As much playing time as qd has got this year I would say today is more of an indictment on him not being ready more than it is on jg. Years inn the system, lost of playing time and first team snaps in practice! apples to oranges.

Really?? the recievers are the thing I'm impressed with minus Kelly... nobody said jg is the true and can win every game.. but three series isn't good enough to see

You are out of your mind. He didn't get thrown into a "crappy situation" any more than Dormady did.

You are simply BLIND and seeing only what you want to see. You saw today why JG isn't the starter. He just isn't ready to make split second decisions like he must.

When Dobbs took over, the one thing he could do was run. JG got some opportunities today to do the same. Conclusion- he ain't Dobbs and it isn't fair to expect him to be.

Yeah. It really is when combined with what the coaches have evaluated for 8 months. His decision making hasn't caught up with the game... and again this was UMass... not UF or even GT.

It was a mistake to put him in when they did. It could have easily cost UT this game if UMass recovers that fumble. And we have to wait to see how Dormady reacts for basically being pulled as if he were the cause of the O floundering.

He had three series... geez stop counting him out until he has a chance... he may not be the choice but can say he isn't rdy from three series... you take three series of qd and he def isn't ready... what are you saying

He needs to grow up. I think that many players either dont like him or lack confidence in his play. I will now shut up complaining about Dormady - he is our only hope. I will point out that Ga has been playing a true freshman almost the whole year- the good coaches have an Ace in the hole. If either Kelly or Dormady gets hurt- we have no hope. NONE

Spot on, three series with play calls completely opposite from his strengths! If he got as many read options as qd did in the last few series I might have a better read to call him better, same or worse but with what he go today there is no way to say!

I think I know jg's problem(s). He has huge nerves. And for some reason the offensive players (starters) chose qd. Maybe a reason behind it maybe not. And the speed of the game is ahead of him and it started in camp ( trouble with the starters)

JG thinks too slow. The game has not slowed down for him. With time it hopefully will... but he isn't ready to be out there yet. If he does this vs UMass... what do you think UGA will do to him.

Really? I'm SURE you know his "strengths" better than the coaches who have seen every moment of practice he's had... but the fumble was on a read option. It didn't get called as a rush for him but he was pulling the ball. So that made I believe the 3rd designed run for him.

On the stat sheet, it shows 3 rushes (out of 11 plays) for 4 yards. What is this "strength" you're talking about? If you count the fumble, he ran the ball 4 times for -2 yards.

I think he has the talent to be great. But he isn't Dobbs resurrected. He is not going to be the runner Dobbs was. He can be a MUCH better passer... once the game slows down for him. He needs TIME for that to happen.

Many seem to overlook some of the recruiting websites have him listed a pro-style QB and some a dual threat QB.

He is not the blazing scrambler and runner many think. Like Jones has said in the past, Dormady's and JG's skill sets are very similar. Dormady has more experience and is further along in his development. JG's daddy pushed the dual threat label and out looks like many bought it.

JG and his apologists need to ease up until the kid gets more experience and develops.

Jones played the QB competition too long and we are seeing the results.

JG has talent his decision making is way to slow. He is doing way to much thinking. QD is better but he makes a lot of bad decisions with the ball. Both need a lot of work and you wonder why they look so bad considering the time they have been here.

You need a actual running qb in the spread I forget what went down for dobbs to lead this team but I think it was something vs Alabama and he made it game? Could be wrong.

Lol as much as the coaches?? Everybody complaining about them but you take up for them and say that they picked the right qb... sit down

Take it for what it's worth, but I have heard from a guy who has talked with a lower coach in the program that the typical freshman problems that QBs have are glaringly obvious and increased in JG. I know, I know, through the grapevine and all that, but if that's true, that is something that the coaches see every day in practice, and it explains why he doesn't get the time.

I agree with the players don't like him or lack confidence. Players response when he in game isn't good

JG appears to be struggling with the speed of the game. Even today vs UMass he appeared uneasy.

I also think Johnsons drop may have bothered him.
