Should JJ get to stay if charges are dropped?

It's interesting that so many folks are considering what Kiffin should do, when in reality, most of this won't be up to him. In the original thread, a criminal defense attorney in Tennessee commented; and stated that it's likely all 3 will face jail time, and the 2 who actually committed the robbery will face serious time, like 8-10 years, even for first offenses. He also stated that the state did away with any kind of reductions of sentences, leniency, or the right of the presiding judge to have any discretion whatsoever in cases like this.

Seems like everybody just ignored the one guy with any insight into the possibilities. It's likely Kiffin won't have any say in whether or not they get to remain on the team.

He was only out in the wee hours of the morning in a car with drugs and drug related items that commited armed robbery.

Frankly, I see suspension for the remainder of the regular season. Kiff has to make a statement with this. If Janzen hadn't just been suspended for "administrative reasons" ie. tested positive for marijuana, then maybe he just misses the Ole Miss game. Maybe he returns for a bowl game??

Suspend him for what? Charges dropped = did nothing wrong.

No. . .he was still IN THE CAR and most probably knew just what the hell the other two were doing! He may not be technically guilty, but I'd suspend him for the remainder of this year and make him prove that he wants to come back next year. Kiffin has to be tough here! :lolabove:

At a minimum, Jackson violated teams rules by being out past curfew. He's just coming off suspension. Kick him off the team. Enjoy JUCO, Jackson. We don't need you.

where has it been confirmed there even was a curfew? I must have missed that

Suspend the dumb@ punk sob for violating team curfew immediately after being brought back off suspension. I don't question whether he was involved in the hold up or not, that is the job of the police. But anyone who was just disciplined and then immediately violated curfew obviously didn't learn much of a lesson. And to not punish him even though we need him this week sends a message to the rest of the team that some can get away with things that others can't. I hope he grows up after this and learns not to associate with trash but he is going to have to prove that to his teammates. I would rather lose with honor than win with dishonor and/or a dishonorable player.

We HAVE to get this thing resolved or none of us will get any work done....
then we'll be fired.
then we'll be on the street
then we'll have to rob somebody
then it'll all start over again.

hmmmmm maybe we should pay our players as much as bama and FU and they wouldn't have to resort to this.

Breaking curfew is no big deal. Let JJ play!!!

Hanging out with trash perpetrating a criminal act in the middle of the night is not big deal? Breaking a team rule is not a big deal? Using poor judgment immediately after coming off suspension is not a big deal? Not having enough respect for the University, and its' supporters, to represent them with honor is not a big deal?

I have been a Vol fan for a long time, but if leadership at UT felt this way it would be time to support a new university.

please, you cant compare us to you, your team is a bunch of hooligans.

plus didnt CLK recruit a child rapist?

Dealing cocaine is less damaging than holding someone up with a bb gun. Get real.

He did not recruit a child rapist. I assure you they didn't take the issue lightly.

Do some research, if you understand what that word means, and get back to us.

Ummm.....read the incident report. The kid didn't "rape" anyone. He was guilty of participating in what he thought was a bit of a prank.... his older cousin did the damage when he left the room. So once again....BAMMERS can't read.

Yeah, curfews are usually only in place during camp when the coaches actually live in a close proximity and can check on them. Highly doubt they have a curfew now, never heard of a college having one during the season.

We are dealin with adult kids. Im not saying dont keep him out some games . The charges were dropped for a reason and I dont think its because he can play.If he had anything to do with it I say he, and the others, must go. I hope that this is a wake-up call for all involved.
