Koby Young looks like a bigtimer. LSU offered last summer and he's got a CB from Wiltfong

LSU staff jumps on 2024 class as Sept. 1 arrives (247sports.com)

Cortez Hankton put Young through a rigorous workout at the Tulane camp at the beginning of June and again at LSU later that month. Those two workouts were enough to convince Hankton he could play in the SEC after Young showcased consistent hands and looked advanced with his route running and movement skills.

Two in-state prospects the Tigers are trending for include wide receiver Koby Young and cornerback Wallace Foster.

Do not focus on Young’s current rating (85). This guy is a player who performed well above that rating at Tulane and LSU’s camps over the summer.

I like us trying to get into St. Frances. Michigan could fade away some from that program down the road is important to note. They hired St. Frances head coach as a special assistant a couple of years ago and offered everyone at that school. The coach took the head coaching job at Charlotte this offseason however

Watched wilfong wrap around. Guy normally seems to bypass the vols but last episode he was gushing about our success. Talked about how vol recruiters don't have to sell the future, he said Tennessee football is back and our recruiting is going to blow up.

He bypasses the Vols because what recruiting has been at the Elite other than Nico and maybe 3-4 other pieces? He didn’t bypass Tennessee when they committed. Just got to start getting the guys. Which seems like will happen in the 24’ class as we get further away from the NCAA stuff and coming off of a 11 win season. Then we’ll be all over 247 and everywhere else just like Georgia, Bama, Texas, Ohio State, Miami etc.

This is just a guess, but they may not accept as many commitments as early this year unless a kid is near the top of their boards. We were excited about the WR out of SC(Mazeo Bennet). Now he's pretty much an afterthought, looking at the kids we have a legitimate shot at landing.

Interesting group of DL and Edge guys coming this weekend. Franklin obviously the overall headliner, and Young is a fairly highly ranked Edge guy for whom ND is the chalk pick right now. Jayden Jackson is a guy who's been blowing up very recently, with offers from UT and OSU.

But D'Nas White is a really good looking DL prospect with a nice offer list who was on the guest list for the Bama game (not sure if he showed or not) and even though Q. Johnson is unrated by 247 and On3 but he's got great size and appears to be a basketball player as well which is always a good sign in terms of athleticism and footwork for DL. We offered back in October and apparently he's been on campus multiple times already.

Interested to see how those guys look when on campus and what they have to say about their respective visits.
