Jay Cutler played for Vandy....that tells me all I need to know about the core values of that organization. Is only fitting that they have a whining, pouting head coach...it is what the institution demands.

No, I agree, I don't like Sumlin or Briles at all. Especially Briles. I have no clue on Malzahn...I'm not sure if he'd come. His stock is low, but if he wouldn't take Vandy or presumably UNC, he won't come to Ole Miss as low as we are.

Ole Miss has a campaign going now to expand the football stadium and upgrade the facilities. Should be done in the next couple of years. We definitely invest a ton of money into football unlike Vandy, but it is almost just as hard to win here. Houston Nutt was a top 10 paid coach, but we are probably not a top 100 team this year. It's actually not a bad job because the fan expectations are not that high. Most Ole Miss fans realistically know we won't be competing ever for a National Championship. Most seem pretty content with 8-10 win seasons and occasionally a shot to go to Atlanta. Just pretty impossible to do in the SEC West as OM or MS State.

Sounds like ya'll could have a chance at Malzhan. A big reason why he didn't go to Vandy was he knew that they weren't dedicated to athletics. If Ole Miss already has these campaigns in place it should be sold to him hard if he'll listen to Ole Miss. I don't doubt he won't at least listen if he was approached.

I think the possibility of coaching at Ark is closed now with how good Piterno is doing. Now the closest SEC school to his home state is now open...would be interesting if he doesn't give a strong consideration to it. No other school is going to open up soon unless the CMRicht rumors are true...but doubt that.

One last thing...UNC and Vandy are more academic schools. He probably doesn't care to have his hands tied behind his back when it comes to recruiting with something like academics.

Even far more talented Vanderbilt and Kent-Sucky teams struggle against the Vols. Vols find a way to eek out wins against these two programs year in and year out...I think CJF needs to calm down a bit. He is going to bring Vandy to respectability; however he shouldnt be promising that he will beat Tennessee right off the bat. The 2005 game was an anomaly that Cutler and Bennett were lucky to win...
