James Franklin is a hypocrite

If by hypocrite you mean pole smoker then I agree.

You're being too kind Lex....

I'm glad he's there because he has basically poked the hornet's nest and is going to find out the hard way that Vols out number the hapless Commodores 500 to one even in Nashville. He'll see first hand how Vols and their fans can go from being somewhat passive about Vandy to absolutely hating their azzes. He also needs to remember that the Vols will have players that Vandy will not and his open wound will be stomped on.

Let's think about this for a moment. You are comparing Vanderbilt's win over Ole Miss to Tennessee's win over Vanderbilt. You are comparing VANDERBILT'S win over OLE MISS to TENNESSEE'S win over VANDERBILT.

Who freaking cares what a coach does a Ole Miss or Vandy? YOU DO. You talk about him because you feel threatened by him and the more you talk about him the more relevant Vandy becomes. Let it go.

He's just calling Franklin a pissy little beeotch. It's not like he's singing the guy's praises....

When Franklin went for the "2-season, 4-win, Superbowl" comeback, he jumped the shark. He was basically telling the world, "I can't believe they would celebrate this win like they are. I mean, we're Vandy!"

Priceless. Just... Amazingly stupid and defeatist from a guy that apparently has been trying to sell the "No history, New Vandy" product.

Is it just me or does anyone else think J. Franklin looks like the son of Mumar Qadafi they captured on Sunday?

Will probably catch heck for this, but...

I didn't even know he was a black coach until after watching 3 of his games and someone told me prior to Kentucky game.

I guess I am color blind.

Totally off the subject, but James Franklin is the whitest black dude I've ever seen. I thought he was white until I heard someone calling him a black head coach in the SEC. I was quite surprised.

I have been a UT fan for all my life and have either seen or listened by radio to most every game for over 46 years.... I Am still a UT Fan.

Today I watched the post game Franklin press conference video for the first time, even though he did take a shot (I thought) at Dooley (i.e. "I am not going to talk about youth and injuries.....I am going to take responsibility for my team" etc.) for the most part, I thought he, as a coach said the right things

Most of it was coach speak, and all the build up about the UT post game celebration is mainly a media thing.

Franklin said he would not talk it this year, but would answer any questions they may have during Tennessee week next year, he called it an open wound... I would hope our coaching staff would do the same thing

In conclusion: When we meet the commodes at their high school stadium next year, I hope we stomp a mud hole in their sorry arse, in front of all two of their fans

Rub some habanero spiked salt into the wound with a 42-12 whipping in 2012.

Is this a joke?

Any win by Vandy is a big win for them. He had just gotten his first SEC win and got emotional during a press conference and that is somehow equal to Dooley jumping up and down in a mosh pit, saying we will always kick the crap out of Vanderbilt, and leading a cheer emphasizing that his team doesn't give a darn about the whole school of Vanderbilt.. If you were the head coach at Vandy and that didn't piss you off then you don't have a pulse. But he is somehow a hyprocrite because he got emotional during a press conference?

I have no problem with Tennessee's celebration. I was happy to see our players and coaches having a good time, but if I were in Franklin's shoes my feelings would be different.

James Franklin's quote "Some people act like they won a super bowl and they beat a team that has won 4 games in the past 2 years.

Ole Miss has won 2 GAMES this year and he is going to cry about beating them even though Vandy beat them by 14 points last year.

So yes its hypocritical. Im glad that is too complicated for you to understand. Good try though:good!:

Why would I feel threatened by Franklin, Im not even a coach? Your completely right in that Vandy becomes more relevant because im talking about him on a message board. Kirk Herbstreit called me today to tell me that Vandy is going to a be a preseason top 25 because I posted a video of him.

Ole Miss was 1-1 when Vandy played them and had won 12 games in the past 2 years, not the same as a team that had won 4. He had no way of knowing they were only going to win 2 games this year but keep acting like he did if it makes you feel better.

Ole Miss won 4 games last year, including a loss to a fcs team. Ole Miss was projected to lose and lost to BYU at home with absolutely no identity on offense yet your going to tell me that people expected them to be good or even decent? Research can be your friend. Try it some time.

Ahh man you got me :ermm:

You seem to be forgetting that Frankin is the head coach at Vanderbilt. It doesn't take "research" to know how bad their football program has been for the last century. After their first 3 games this season, Vanderbilt had more wins than they had in each of the previous two seasons. I have no trouble understanding why a coach would be happy about that. I also have no trouble understanding why Franklin would be upset about a rival coach bad mouthing his team.

You're absolutely right. I follow UT & Ole Miss and virtually every Ole Miss fan expected to win about the same amount this year (4 games). Most every fan expected to lose to Vandy, we just didn't expected to get blown out.

Any rumors on who Ole Miss is looking at for their new coach? Did they get rid of the AD too? Don't know if i heard right but I'm understanding he isn't very liked either.

Vanderbilt also had an easier schedule this year.
Instead of Northwestern, they got Elon.

Uconn lost its head coach Randy Edsall and has had to deal with changing to a pro style offense and attrition.

Kentucky was a much better team with Hartline, Cobb, and Locke.

So its not as impressive as you think. They are obviously a better team, but last year they had a guy who even admitted he wasn't a head coach.

I guess its fine for him to complain about bragging about beating a lame team, even though he did the same thing. This is obvioulsy too complicated for you

Yeah, the AD is not taking part of the search. He is stepping down next year.

Leach was one of the most talked about and I heard he is/or will be interviewed, but the fan base is pretty divided on him. Sumlin (Houston), Art Briles (Baylor) & Hugh Freeze (Ark. State) seem to be the likely front runners right now along with some other assistants like Kirby Smart from Bama.

The manner in which Dooley and Franklin conducted themselves after the game are not even remotely similar. That is just how I see it. That doesn't mean that I disapprove of the locker room celebration. I thought it was great.

Have a nice Thanksgiving

Your right, Dooley does it when it is supposed to be behind closed doors with no one finding out, and Franklin does it where the whole world can see. Yet he is still going to call out Dooley

Yeah Ole Miss needs a Leach type hire to get a spark I would think. I know I'm going to get some hell on this but I don't understand the love affair with Sumlin. They play a weak schedule, and he was handed/lucked out with Keenum. I'd wait to see what he can do without him, and maybe a tougher schedule before I'd go through that big of a step in hiring. Just IMHO... Where's Barkley now on the Turner Gill love affair after he was so vocal about Chisiks hiring??

Stupid hires that are based on the flavor of the month is just that...stupid! No one talks about how great a coach Sumlin is but how great Kellum is. Same thing with Briles. I didn't know what the Baylor coaches' name was until you mentioned it, but I've heard of RGIII. Certain players come through, i.e. Cam Newton, RGIII, Keenum, etc, every now and then. But a coaches reputation can't be earned totally on one player.

Kirby Smart is a big hire if he'd do it. Has Malzhans current yr lowered his stock enough where he isn't in the talks for Ole Miss? Or is there something I'm missing there?

I know Vandy can care less about their football program, and are just happy with riding the other schools back to the bank. Is Ole Miss the same way? Are they willing to invest into facilities or just don't care anymore? I ask just cause I wonder thats all. Thanks.

No, I agree, I don't like Sumlin or Briles at all. Especially Briles. I have no clue on Malzahn...I'm not sure if he'd come. His stock is low, but if he wouldn't take Vandy or presumably UNC, he won't come to Ole Miss as low as we are.

Ole Miss has a campaign going now to expand the football stadium and upgrade the facilities. Should be done in the next couple of years. We definitely invest a ton of money into football unlike Vandy, but it is almost just as hard to win here. Houston Nutt was a top 10 paid coach, but we are probably not a top 100 team this year. It's actually not a bad job because the fan expectations are not that high. Most Ole Miss fans realistically know we won't be competing ever for a National Championship. Most seem pretty content with 8-10 win seasons and occasionally a shot to go to Atlanta. Just pretty impossible to do in the SEC West as OM or MS State.

If I'm Ole Miss, I hire Larry Fedora
