I have not heard his name mentioned in practice. Iirc, he was moved to DE which obviously is a deep position. I was hoping he would find a position, because he is so athletic.

I am starting to wonder if he will ever see any real playing time. I was so pumped when he signed

Strangely, he actually started a game at MLB. Hard to believe that he would not have been better off staying there. Not that he had a good game, but they started him for some reason.

I have not heard of him moving back to defense. But, would not be surprised with our two news. I think they are going to be better than their stars indicate.

Like Creamer, good athlete who really doesn't fit anywhere.

Can only start so many guys. We finally have the depth we have been seeking. He can still be a very important player on special teams.

Jakob Johnson looks like an almost ideal fit in the TE/H-back position that was utilized in the bowl game. I look for him to play a lot of snaps in that role this season which is really exciting.

At least AS GOOD as Ellis. Most likely a better blocker and threat after he receives the ball.

He caused the fumble at the end of the first half against Georgia last year. Absolutely made an impact in the biggest win of the season!

He provides depth at a position that needs depth. He is just not as good as the other guys in front of him.

From a few pictures and stories I remember people posting up here of him meeting with fans, he seems like a great guy. Hope he is able to contribute in some meaningful ways this year.

Unless any of the incoming freshman jump him, I would assume he is the 3rd string TE, correct? With Croom graduating and Wolf possibly having the opportunity to leave for the NFL, by this time next year Jakob could push for some valuable playing time for team 121.

UT is going to need more good blockers at the HB position as they incorporate more undercenter plays.

He took Joe Stocstill position on the depth chart after he left... Maybe the 4-5 TE

If he is then he still has an opportunity to carve out some PT. I think we will see 2 or 3 of that group on the field together a good bit.

Why? I mean yes his story is great, coming from Stuttgart, Germany to play football and all that. But was he really considered some beast of a prospect?
