Is going to have to get faster and stronger to go along with that attitude if he is to ever become an all SEC caliber OL. He's doing OK - I really don't see why some of you are bragging so much about his current level of play as it's nothing to write home about but he is only a freshman.

You try it. Strap on big boy, jump in the trenches against All SEC D-line man and see how you do. As a true freshman - JJ is doing an outstanding job.

He is playing very well and is a bright spot on the line. If he can stay healthy he will have a wonderful career

A good head nod to Jack and Chance for their play yesterday. They showed no fear of Alabama's d-line.Got overwhelmed a couple of times;but, winter strength work and all will be good here. Also,of note did you see the wipeout block Coleman Thomas threw on Jalen hurd's touchdown run in the fourth quarter? He has shown to be devastating on the pull-sweep block this year. That man is a cut down machine.GBO,sweep the rest.

I both agree and apparently disagree with you. He will need to CONTINUE to get stronger - great SEC OL players are usually upperclassman with 2 years plus of experience and time in the weight room. It's because of that lack of experience and time lifting that is impressive since he is just a true freshman. His most extensive playing time came against Georgia and Alabama and he did a decent job even factoring in the lack of that growth time - that is the impressive part. Most young men improve year-to-year and that kind of improvement for Jack Jones will be impressive for anyone.

I didn't get to watch a lot of the game because of work. How did Chance Hall look yesterday?

Wow PitVol, have you and coach K decided to change the forum rules that the only ones who can have an opinion have to play in the NFL? Going to be a really small forum?

If you guys didn't notice, our OL got abused again Saturday. We are so desperate we are starting true freshmen who are battling hard but it's not a fair fight against older and more mature DL's. I like our freshmen OL but they should all be getting stronger during their RS season. JJ did fairly well against the guy in front of him but was a step behind when asked to pull. Re-watch the game and tell me I'm wrong or just get mad because you don't want to believe it.

There's a big difference in a true freshman and a RS Jr. or Sr. ..... You'll see the difference in him after he's had more time in the strength and conditioning program. ....... And he'd drive you into the ground and break you off like a pencil necked geek

This was his what, second career start? Talk about a trial by fire. He and Hall were asked to step up against what is widely accepted as the best front seven in all of CFB. They both did very well. Jones is an SEC caliber OL and the last two games has proven it. He will get stronger, Jesus give the kid some time.

Whats wrong with praising the kids play? Nobody is saying the guy is the next Bryant McKinney. Good freaking grief.

Sometimes the definitely got abused. Sometimes they won. Inconsistency with a young group is not unexpected. They have a great future. Let's applaud the good we see, too.

Just wait until next year when Richmond and Boulware and a couple more true freshmen are added to our mix for the OL.

Our future is very bright indeed!

I can't wait to watch Hurd and AK run behind some good blocking next year.

Our OL has been just decent this year, next year should become good and the year after that should improve to a great O line.

#BrickbyBrick...VFL...GBO!!!

Buck up hero. I didn't say you couldn't offer up an opine. However, IMO, your opinion sucks. And if you haven't noticed our patched up O-Line has been getting abused all season. In a best case scenario JJ would have been allowed to RS, hell, all freshman should redshirt. But permit me to bring you into the real world, on second thought, nah. You just linger out in la-la and hopefully one day you'll figure it out.

Maybe my perception of what some of these guys are saying is different than yours? Our OL has sucked so bad in 2014 - 2015 that folks appear to want to inflate the play of these freshmen to "fantastic" status and if you point out that they ought to look a bit closer and tap the brakes a bit then they resort to name calling. I'd be shocked if they graded out very high by the coaching staff.

The reality is these young men are being thrown into the fray and they aren't as physically ready since they are only 6 months out of HS. Will they be good players in another year or 2 of growing and developing - it looks promising. Are they playing great right now - no, but not any worse than the guys they replaced which again is encouraging.

Lots of folks are also super high on Coleman Thomas. Watch the first sack of the game where the bama DL trucked CT right on his arse then tackled Dobbs. Watch every time JJ pulled and you will see he was a step slow getting to his block on the edge, but I didn't see him get trucked to his arse any. CH's man blew by him and caused the fumble that ended the game, but he made a lot of good blocks also.

Just open your eyes and see them for what they are - talented true freshmen who aren't physically ready for big time SEC football OL play (and they shouldn't be - they're only 18-19 years old). Unfortunately, they may be the best option we have anyway.

Flame away and let the name calling begin.
