Appears you have a more reasoned opinion, but you can't read back through this thread and not notice the over the top statements being throw around? I know its a VN thing as half the players on the roster have someone claiming they'll declare for the draft after 3 seasons before they even step onto the field. :eek:lol:

Yeah but you're throwing the rest of us out with that nasty bathwater. :yuck: If someone goes off the deep end and starts trumping up Hall or Jones for THIS YEAR'S Outland? They'll get called on it. We've done it on posters jumping the gun on Dobbs already.

Fair enough, but I thought I addressed the "over the toppers" directly?

But be fair, I never trashed a player nor said any of them sucked - only pointed out the realistic flaws in their current performance?

OK boys. We've not got enough issues to fuss about this. I'll buy the next pitcher. Let's agree that Jack Jones and Chance Hall have demonstrated extraordinary confidence as they went at it against far more seasoned top-tier linemen...two games in a row. Kudos for this. Jack Jones has got a mad-man-like mean streak that doesn't exist in the greatest percentage of offensive linemen...and that's one thing that IS contagious. Both of these youngsters are indeed displaying an admirable level of tenacity ("tenaciousness?" Whuuuuuuuuut?). There are frosh O-linemen this good on a few teams on a somewhat regular basis (bama being one of them), but they're somewhat of an anomaly with our guys; been that way since the end of last century. With Butch's well-oiled recruiting apparatus producing better products on the field, we'll hopefully find more gems like JJ and CH on the O-line. We've got the best qbs coming to K-town. Now, we should expect more stud rbs to move in to Gibbs Hall starting with EEs in 2016. Overall...hats off to both of these young men. Hey barmaid! We'll need another pitcher 'bout as quick as you can bring it!

VN logic: you've got to be Bruce Matthews to make a legit criticism of an OL.

Otherwise you'll have some backwoods yokel saying you're a pencil necked nerd.

This OL played well given the competition and circumstances but there is plenty of room to improve.

JJ played well but I don't get the jawjacking. Bama sacked and pressured Dobbs at will.

How many sacks did Alabama get? Sacked at will? Good grief.

This kid reminds me of those big ol nasty linemen from the 70's...who would have defensive players for his mid morning snack.

LOVE him celebrating after the Georgia win and yelling "this is what we came here for!"

May have to purchase me a #66 jersey!

GBO!!!

The kid brings the nastiness we have been missing on the oline.
i am glad that he is part of our future.
Finally, a promising future for the O line as a whole...Been a while.
Is going to have to get faster and stronger to go along with that attitude if he is to ever become an all SEC caliber OL. He's doing OK - I really don't see why some of you are bragging so much about his current level of play as it's nothing to write home about but he is only a freshman.
...Please point out the post where I said any of these freshmen suck as I don't think its out there? ... What I'm not seeing is the amazing freshmen play that so many are referencing and I'd like to participate. Unlike most on here, my mind is open to the facts. :eek:k:

I "believe" the rub occurs where you actually agree with the first posts about attitude (Nasty), and then point out needing to be faster and stronger (your observation/opinion) which shouldn't be a problem. You're entitled to it and really shouldn't get any grief for it. The end of that post and the next one however; you say you don't get where the bragging about his play is coming from. No body bragged, they were talking about his "attitude". You're supporting your argument against something that didn't occur. JMHO:hi:

You should learn how to speak "football" if you're going to be criticizing players. Getting faster as an OL is not nearly as important as getting quicker.
