It's with a heavy heart....

Oh my God I'm so sorry! Rich was fun to debate with and a very passionate Vol fan. My heart goes out to him and his family. I pray that the good Lord has received him with open arms.

It is all our loss.

Yes they did have a new child last year.

About some kind of the fund I know the family can use whatever help anyone can give. His wife was worrying about how to pay for the funeral (something you don't plan for in your mid-30's), and what she is going to do about Christmas for the kids. If I understand correctly they was doing the last minute thing about shopping for the kids (hence the reason he was working so many hours).

If someone comes up with a way to do this I am more than willing to give something, plus I have already been on Amazon today trying to find some gifts for the boys (the kindergartner loves dinosaurs and Nike's).

I have seen online funds set up before but I have no idea how to set one up.

People can donate and post notes either by name or annonomously.

Hopefully somebody will do that here.

RIP to Rich. Prayers to his wife and kids. Man, it hurts thinking about how his family must feel right now.

Dang. Sad news. I pray for his family and friends. I hope they are brought together and become closer because of it. I hate this for them. Life just became exponentially more difficult.

I liked him as a poster. I already miss him. Just tragic.

That I am asking for prayer for a fellow Vol and Volnation member. I received a phone call late last night that RichRollin (Volnation screen name) was tragically killed in a car accident sometime yesterday evening. He leaves a wife and 3 young boys ages 1 to 14. I got to know him while our kids were playing youth football together. Rich was a great guy and truly loved the Vols. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers as I'm sure they are suffering unimaginably today.

I am placing this in the recruiting forum because he hung out and posted here most of the time.

Please forgive me for bringing bad news to the forum on what appears to be a great day in Volnation. :hi:

I am so sorry to hear this.......

He was one of the posters I always checked when I say his post...... he will be sadly missed

Thanks for letting us know

Since the birth of my daughter, any time I hear news like this about anyone who leaves behind children it makes my heart literally hurt. Prayers for the family.

Oh man, I'm just floored! Prayers for his wife and kids. I don't use the friend option much at all and neither did Rich but I'm proud to have been one of his 10 friends. Man, speechless.

Maybe we can have VN go to his funeral. I'd go but I'm in cali.

If something does get set-up, count me in on helping out. This is so tragic and just before Christmas. I can't imaging what the wife and children are going through now. Prayers to the family.

Too young, terrible for his family and friends. Thoughts and prayers to and for them.

Life is fleeting, he was just on here yesterday. Hug and kiss your loved ones and remind yourself to do it everyday.

Condolences. Cherish the small things, my friends. The joys of this life are fleeting. RIP.

O Lord, we have a friend here who has departed this world too soon. We know you are there, but sometimes we cannot see past sorrow and tears. Be with him, Lord... guide him through his passage to heaven and bring your light to his soul, so that he may see your goodness in the afterlife.
Amen

Great first post!

I cannot imagine being that age losing your father, especially around such a family-oriented time of year. God bless him and his family, we are all praying for all of you!
