It's Time To Get A Real Coach

Holly has had MORE than enough time to prove her worth! As a matter of fact she has, she isn't a top tier coach!!!! If you like the last 5 years, fine. If you want better, then we need to clean house and hire a much better coach! Are we gonna watch the #1 recruiting class be coaching to mediocrity just so we can say we got the #1 class??? Sooner the better, we need fresh energy breathed into our Lady Vols!!!

She needs to fall on the sword and quit.

Tennessee needs to spend some $$$$$$ and get a quality coach.

How much longer do we have to endure?

I would hire Brenda Freese from Maryland. She is an excellent coach and she can recruit and motivate. It would take a lot of money but I would go hard after her!

We need a coach! What a mess we have on our hands. We are now a joke! Please Holly step down!!

As a response to someone telling you to shut the **** up? Not unreasonable in my opinion...because that should not happen as a response to what I said...he was out of line as well.

I see...so two wrongs make a right. Got it. 😉👌🏻

No, the first wrong "righted" would not have resulted in another wrong. No one has a right to tell someone on here to shut the **** up...and it's allowed to stand. I guess I was wrong in not taking his advice as a compliment...should have said thank you...lool

She is the Derek Dooley of Women's Basketball coaches. The fall isn't quite as steep and it took her longer but she has killed a legendary program. I never thought I'd see the day when the Lady Vols were an afterthought program nationally.

I challenge you to rethink that. Compare what Dooley inherited vs what Warlick inherited. Then compare where they ended up in relation to what they inherited. It aint pretty to think about.

Ok. I have to say it! With all respect, this is a broken record. Keeps playing over and over.

Im just glad Dooley didnt get 5 years. That was really not pretty thinking about that.

What made our program great was the expectations placed on a coach. She had 5 years to meet those expectations and has failed evey year and failed miserably the past 2.

I think we all want to be supportive of Holly but there is cause for some major concerns. The program has slowly declined over the past five seasons. Players are not improving very much during their careers at UT. We are seeing the same issues and mistakes game after game. The skill set of each player needs work. They are not fundamentally sound and show a lack of discipline.

For the past three seasons, we are told in post game press conferences after losses that the players did not follow the game plan. Why not? What actions were taken to fix that issue? Today, one player stated the opponent was overlooked, but that
response seemed to shock and anger Holly. Obviously, the staff and players are not on the same page. Fans argue that the roster doesn't allow the staff the opportunity to discipline the offenders because the team has no depth. True perhaps for this year, but what about last year and the year before that? Currently, I don't think there is a Holly Warlick recruited player in the WNBA. That fact should mean something to our fan base. Is Tennessee no longer developing players worthy of the WNBA? Looks like it.

My point is that something needs to be done before this once proud program sinks even further. Although I am not a fan of
Kentucky, I do applaud Mitchell in the fact that there was some major problems with his program last off season and he publicly addressed them, took responsibilty and promised the fan base he'd do better. By all accounts, the Wildcats have had a solid season.

Perhaps Holly could learn from that. Reach out to the fan base, make some changes to the program, especially the staff. Do something. The current situation is not working, and doing nothing about it is eventually going to get her fired.

WHY can you just NOT admit Holly is in over her head and can NOT Coach. Why is that so difficult. How low does she have to take this program before you wake up???

I think Holly's a terrible leader, if not a terrible coach, but in fairness to her, the reason none of her players are in the WNBA is because none of them have graduated yet. She will likely go 2 for 3 for her first graduating class (Diamond and Mercedes), with Jaime added from her second class.

Getting her fired will take more than fans in a Chat room...All the other coaches baby her and pump her up to the media saying how hard it is blah blah..No one in the media is really questioning her coaching skills. Lastly it will take a few former lady vols to really hold the AD feet to the fire..every one who's opinion carries weight
Wont say a word

Regarding my post, I am awake as to what is going on with this program. I've been a fan for 40 years. It is extremely disappointing to see what is happening. Sad, actually.

Personally, I would like to see a coaching change after the season, but I don't think we will get one. And I do think some very good candidates are out there. My point is that if Holly is staying, some very big changes need to be made. Otherwise, I think she is gone after next season. Folks are upset. The fan base deserves better.

And about the WNBA comment, I stand corrected.
